  1. Nice Jag. I like the tough look.
  2. The vast majority of kit decals are made with what is basically a silk screening process. I don’t have any details beyond that, though. I have often wondered what the actual equipment looks like, and how the process works.
  3. Cool subject. Looking good so far. Watching.
  4. Curiosity got me again, so I measured some aluminum foil from the kitchen. It is Alcan brand, so not one of the cheaper ones. To my astonishment it measured .0007” thick. Just to double check, I measured a new piece of BMF New Improved Chrome, and sure enough it measured .0008”. Now, it must be considered that the BMF is foil + adhesive, but just the same I would never have guessed that kitchen foil is thinner than BMF.
  5. Those figures are foil and adhesive only. No backing paper.
  6. Nicely done. Good looking D-Type. I have always passed on these Lindberg Jags, but it really does have the right look. If I find one again, I'm snapping it up.
  7. I don’t have any of the current ‘chrome’ and never had the ultra bright stuff, but measured up what I have on hand. New Improved Chrome = .0008”, or 8 tenths of a thou (or 0.8 mil) BMF Matte Aluminum = .0013”, or 1.3 thou. BMF Black Chrome = .0009”, or 9 tenths of a thou. I was curious about this myself. I expected the New Improved stuff to be closer to half a thou.
  8. Wow! What an amazing build. I don’t know how I missed the build thread, but I’m going to go back and have a good read of it. However, I don’t need to do that to see that this is a stunning replica of a very unusual and interesting subject. Excellent attention to detail, and man, you nailed the look. Outstanding!
  9. Excellent work. Nice weathering. The old Ford looks ready for business.
  10. Cheers, Helmut. That looks like a great kit.
  11. Thanks for your comments on the Gunze kit. I've nearly bought one on several occasions, but I can see what you're are saying. Nonetheless, you've done a good job of it. The Alfa has a great period look. Nicely done.
  12. Excellent work on this old kit. One of the nicest I've seen of the IMC/Union Bugs. Paint work is outstanding. Very nice.
  13. Interesting project. I've been curious about these Italeri Rolls Royce kits for some time. Looking forward to seeing it come together.
  14. Nice looking Ranchero. I’m quite curious about this model. I never knew PMC. made anything like it.
  15. Very nicely done. The work on the top mechanism looks quite clean.
  16. Very nice Boss. Looks great in that shade of orange. Well done.
  17. Nice looking Mustang. As others have said, the colour really works well, and nice work laying it down.
  18. Beautiful Caddy. Very clean work. You really did that old model justice. How did you do the pinstriping on the hood?
  19. Classic! It looks just right. Nice details and good colour choices. Well done.
  20. Cool stuff, Mark. You're getting right into it. Scratchbuilding can be very satisfying work.
  21. I am quite intrigued with your work. It's interesting to see the process.
  22. Not bad at all. Lots of promise there. I'm curious about the undercoating of Krylon chrome. Is this just something you were experimenting with, or is it the proper method?
  23. Very nice, jj. That’s one of the coolest Camaros I’ve ever seen. Nice realism in those outdoor shots. I like!
  24. Great looking stocker, John. Not the most flashy race car perhaps, but beautiful in it's 'all business' appearance. Nice work on those decals, too. Well done.
  25. Very nice build! I love seeing these old sports car kits built up, especially when they look this good. Very well done.
