Very cool! It’s a big look for such a basic build. Not so easy to accomplish. And hats off for the killer paint. Nice work.

That looks fantastic! Great finishes and very clean. High degree of realism. Excellent.

does bare metal foil spoil?

Cheers Mike. My current sheet is now two over years old. Perhaps I'm out of the loop. I'll keep an eye out for problems. -
Very cool, Bernard. I am very much looking forward to seeing this come together.

does bare metal foil spoil?
Bainford replied to youpey's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'm puzzled by this. What concerns are you talking about? I've been following this thread from the beginning and didn't recall any real complaints. A couple comments of the uncommon yellowing issue, which is easily buffed out, and the long known & well publicized cracking problem, which modellers have just learned to live with for the last decade or so (and have brought to the attention of the Bare Metal Foil Company uncountable times over the years). I have been using BMF for over thirty years, and have been exceptionally pleased with the product. I can't think of a single thing to possibly be concerned about. Additionally, for a small cottage industry, I have been pleased with their customer service over the years. I guess my point is, there seems to be a negative bent to your post, and I don't think it is well founded. I also don't think that an operation like Bare Metal Foil company has the bandwidth to snap to attention every time someone complains. Additionally, your email suggests these 'concerns' are held by the community as a whole, which I am quite certain is not the case. Do you have personal concerns with the product? Personally, I couldn't be happier with BMF chrome (or new, improved chrome, as it is sometimes called), and it continues to meet or exceed expectations every time I use it. Even old stock, complete with wrinkles. The Ultra Chrome is to be avoided, but that's a non-issue so long as regular chrome is available. Just my two cents. Cheers. -
I’ve never seen anyone try this before. Going to be interesting.

I am grieving the loss of Model Master Metalizers. I'm still working on my stash of paint, so haven't tried others yet. Alclad makes a line of 'metal' paints that I'm curious to have a go. I am also quite interested in some of the metal paints offered by AK Interactive. They have two lines of metal paints, Xtreme Metal and True Metal. Xtreme Metal Paints is a paint in a bottle, and True Metal Paints is in a tube, so I assume is thick like some artists paints. I think there are some good options amongst that bunch. I will always miss Model Master Aluminum Plate Buffing Metalizer, though. That stuff is magic.

I have these two bottles. The Superfilm is a few decades old and the Liquid Decal Film is recent. I have a feeling they are the same stuff. The application instructions are the same, the liquid in both bottles has the same consistency and look, and they both have a slight alcohol smell. Looking at the bottles, It appears that the company name has changed, one being marketed by Krasel Industries and the other by Microscale Industries. Perhaps that's when the product name changed. I've only used it once and didn't have much luck. It may be that the decals were beyond saving, but more likely, being my first try, I applied it much too lightly.

Bummer! But, I appreciate your desire to get it right. It's going to be cool. -
It's coming along nicely. I've been curious about the effectiveness of those rivet decals myself. It seems they could do a good job. Do they have a carrier film outside the edges of the rivet? Also, curious where you sourced the grey plastic bolts seen in this photo.

Very sharp looking dragster. Nice work.

The other great models have issues, too. On those models, like on yours, only the builder knows how many mistakes there are, and where they are. Most of us would never see them. Your Build is looking great. The engine detailing brings it to life.

Very cool old Dodge. I really dig the look of this build. Nicely done. -
A stunning dragster. Top notch work here. Absolutely gorgeous, and excellent execution. I really like your vision on these 1/16 rails. A joy to view.

Nice looking Torino. A simple kit, but they got the shape right. Looks great in red. I have an old gluebomb rescue that I've been slowly putting a plan together to build. I'm feeling a bit inspired.

Nice, clean looking Olds, Roger. Well done.

Very cool, Bill. It has a subtle brutality to it. The colour works much better than I thought it would.
