It's great to see one of those old Renwal classics getting the full detail treatment. Nice save of a rare old kit. The silver paint reveals the flowing lines the way I imagine Exner envisioning them. Enjoyed the magazine articals, too. Lovely work.

Nice, tidy work. That's looking really good.

Nice build, Blake. Good looking stock car.

Good to have you aboard, Matthew.

I would guess (key word) that you could thin them with any of the common products used to thin hobby enamels and lacquers. Self levelling thinners from Gunze or Tamiya, or hardware store lacquer thinner should work.

Badger 105 Patroit needle
Bainford replied to dragstk's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Nothing specific, just a good visual inspection, sighting along the assembled airbrush and checking concentricity of parts. Looking at your photo it appears as though the needle collet is jammed against the body, too. Might just be the photo angle though. Either way, your decision to contact Badger is the right one. As others have said, they are very good to deal with. Curious to know what the problem is, when you get it sorted. -
If you need darker blue, some police kits with blue lights may be an option.

Badger 105 Patroit needle
Bainford replied to dragstk's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Not normal at all. Something very wrong there. Something is bent or out of alignment, or assembled wrong. A bend 1.5” back from the tip would put it at the needle bushing. Looking at the photo, something is definitely out of whack. The back of the body itself could be bent and holding the needle off centre, but it looks deeper than that. On mine, the needle is biased to the bottom, but not by any force. Reaching through the window, the needle wiggles up and down effortlessly. Remove the back of the body and check the concentricity of the needle holder assembly to the housing. Everything should be centred. Look deeper for bent parts, especially in the needle holder/trigger area. The head is pretty robust on these, but worth checking for straightness there too. The airbrush may have been dropped at some point, even before you got it. -

That is great! Cool concept, very creative, and wonderfully executed. Nice weathering, too. Looks like fun build. -
Love the period look. The colours and overall graphics package is right on. Very cool.

Way cool! Nicely done. That's a nostalgia build for sure. I dig those old Revell gassers, especially the Anglias. It's cool to see one built out of box with nice details. Looks just like we built them back in the old days.

Love it! They both look fantastic. Great attention to detail and realism. I always enjoy checking out your builds. -
MPC Toyota Supra Tire Question.
Bainford replied to stavanzer's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'm not sure which set would look best without the kit in front of me. I would, however, be very interested in the set you don't need. I've been trying to find some decent 14" and 13" tires for a couple projects. If you wish to sell or trade for a set, send me a PM. Cheers. -
Lovely Lambo, Mario. Looks great in orange, and the wheel paint has just the right look to it. Very nicely done.

Beautiful replica of Bobby's Dodge. You nailed the look. The gold on the decals has the proper reflectivity, which is a nice touch. The comparison with the road car shows just how radical these 'stock' cars were. Nicely done.

Cool Lotus, Lee. Fine looking build with nice paint. Love the colour. What paint is that?
-
Pull the tape after the paint has begun to set up. In other words, not too long after the paint has been laid down. Do not wait until the paint is dry before pulling the tape. When you remove the tape, pull it back on itself; don't pull it straight up, and go slowly. This post may have some useful info for you

Fantastic Countach, Mario. Nice build, and the colour works great on the Lambo. I agree with your thoughts on the Early Countach. The LP400 is the only one that interests me at all.

Looking good. I've not built one of these, but yours is as nice as any I've seen.
