  1. Try the AC Moore in Latham. Looking at their shelves, you wouldn’t think Revell USA was done! With their 50% coupon this week, you’re out the door for $13 - $18 per kit.
  2. Perfection! Helmet and all. Great build.
  3. Thanks Mark. That photo is about 10 mins. after spraying. It has since shrunk enough to lose that wet look. But I've used this clear over the automotive colors before, and it polishes nicely.
  4. I tested Model Master High Gloss Lacquer Clear on the spoon and it went well. So, per the can's instructions, I laid down two wet coats of clear (plus one more) a few minutes apart. Should be plenty to polish to a nice shine. I read on the Pactra Polycarbonate paint can that the paint is resistant to fuel, solvents, etc. So it's tough stuff. Didn't change its hue or shade with the clear over it either. Highly recommend.
  5. Gorgeous! Love it! Very cool nostalgia.
  6. Tamiya makes a spray can for WWII aircraft called “Insignia White”. It’s very, very light gray. I’ve seen that suggested as a hobby alternative for the modern NASCAR chassis. AS-20 is the Tamiya number.
  7. Laid some paint down yesterday. Testors/Pactra Fluorescent Yellow over Tamiya white primer. Three coats. Waiting a week before I clear it. Can anyone confirm that Testors or Tamiya lacquer clear will work over this polycarbonate paint?
  8. Looks great! Bantam-esque. I like it.
  9. Neat find! Keep us updated. Nice tow vehicle too.
  10. Nice build. I really like this livery. Snap kit tires?
  11. The 1962 Daytona winner had the blue interior. Most images I’ve seen of the ‘61 Catalina indicate an OEM Black & gray two-tone interior. Dash was black.
  12. Way cool build! Great job. K&B rule. Loved reading those back then.

    40 ford

    Gangster cool! Nice job.
  14. I think the chrome parts look very toy-like. We’ll see...
  15. The new sneakers look GREAT! Way cool.
  16. That doesn’t sound ideal, but maybe it’s just an interim solution until US distribution is established later in 2018/2019? That said, I still might buy a ‘69 Boss with revised nose at that price. Maybe Italian Cartograf decals will be included in all Revell kits now? Hopefully. Thanks for the info, Tim.
  17. Email just received from Free Time Hobbies: Status of Revell Products We have been getting several emails and phone calls concerning the status of Revell products, in particular the new PT-109 pre-orders. Revell was recently sold and Revell USA (Monogram) and Revell Germany are in the process of being combined into one company which will be located in Germany. When this happened all Revell product shipments stopped. We did receive our first, small, shipment of PT-109 kits (which is why some customers have received the product) but of the hundreds we bought, we only received a few dozen to begin with. Our second (of several) shipments, that was stopped, has started moving again and we should receive it in the next week or two and we will continue to fulfill pre-orders. We can not, at this time, guarantee how many we will be getting on this next shipment. We will fill pre-orders in the order they were placed until all pre-orders are filled. If you have not pre-ordered one, please do so but understand that it might not be filled until after the new Revell company is completely set up. From what we understand, these next few shipments that are headed to us (and the rest of the USA) will be the last Revell product that is available for several months until the new company is completely set up for business. Thank you for your understanding.
  18. Moebius, please shelve this box art for when you DO release an F250/350 high rider. This artwork does not depict what buyers will get in the F100 4x4 box!
  19. Bingo. New Revell kits will not have glaring proportional issues. Quality will improve. Those are my predictions.
  20. You are correct about both.
  21. Sad for the Revell USA employees, but I would be happy to see European production (vs. China). I like the kits I’ve seen recently from Revell AG, Italeri, Eduard, Airfix, etc. Quality product and easy to keep tabs on it if production is basically in your backyard. I think we’ll be fine.
  22. Revell will be between Quonex Groupe and Secan SAS in the portfolio. Hoping for the best...
  23. I agree, Bob. Even with the leaf spring excuse (I'm not saying it's the truth or acceptable, but it's reality as of now.), it's short-sighted to release this kit without a truck arm rear end option. As-is, it only allows for a box stock build. I want to build the Hawaiian Tropic #1. Tool up an optional setup, delay the release, and include it. I won't be buying this $40 kit if it has leaf springs only. I'll wait for a proper Monte Carlo. EDIT: Just saw this in a post on Randy Ayers Nascar board: Yes The chassis was [based] off of Richard Petty’s 78 Monte Carlo he used Leaf springs to use up the remaining parts from the Magnum. We will include the new rear end on the Monte Carlo with an extra set of rear end parts that will be interchangeable and an easy fix. So you can build the Oldsmobile with the Leaf springs remove them later and put on the new rear parts when the Monte Carlo is released. Thank you for your attention to detail it’s builders like you that help us to improve!
  24. If he is “Chrome Plus” in Quebec, he does beautiful work. Highly recommended.
