  1. Good start! So far a mighty fine 409! Looking forward to more!
  2. There seems to be a lot of different materials used in 3D printing, many I am not familiar with. I don’t know if styrene is useable in this process. I have come across many 3D printed items not available as resin castings or as styrene parts I would love to have, but I don’ t want to shell out for something that might not last! Conceivable these parts could be used as masters for reproduction in resin, but that seems like an extra step that not all of us are able to do. Has anyone out there NOT had issues with breakdown, and if so, do you know the material? Painting does not seem to seal the parts to prevent deterioration and there could also be incompatibility issues between regular model materials (styrene, resin). I would like to hear more input from modelers who have purchased these parts and people who do 3D printing. This is such a promising addition for modelers but it seems to have some teething problems.
  3. I began cutting 3” in scale planks from cedar cigar wrappers for my speedboat using the hull and deck of a pt boat kit. This will scale out to about 30 feet in 1/25th scale.
  4. Amazing build- fantastic scratch building and gorgeous paint!

That’s a whole lot of fun in one little place! I could look at the details for hours!
  6. That’s what it’s all about!
  7. Beautiful roadster- love the color and how you made the working steering!
  8. Great rat rod and great back story! Is the centrifugal supercharger scratch built or purchased?
  9. Love to read the story along side the model!
  10. Brilliant!
  11. Everyone, some seriously good and creative work here! Keep ‘em coming!
  12. The supercharger looks like the one in the AMT 57 Chevy.
  13. Fiatboy, the Royals engine was 775 cubic inches and developed 300 bp with normal aspiration. How about fitting dual overhead cams and supercharging it? If you are not going to use the Royals engine, I would be interested in it.
  14. Michelle, your imagination and creativity know no bounds! Model on!
  15. I have a Burago Bugatti T57SC Atlantic- good overall model, but the wire wheels and tires need to be replaced. The wheels need to be a larger diameter and the tires need to be narrower and slightly taller. Has anyone done this upgrade and if so, what have you used?
  16. This looks interesting- I like the particular color you chose. I use flat paint for leather which I then rub with a soft cloth for a slight sheen. It would be interesting too to see if clear gloss would work on it.
  17. Armature wire for electric motors is great for return springs and other fine wiring.
  18. Beautiful job on a great car! This may be the best model Palmer ever did!
  19. Outrageously creative build- but does it have enough power?!?!?
  20. Looking really good! I like the rear fender skirt trim! Personal opinion- lakes pipes along the running boards instead of the dump pipes.
  21. Try soaking the strip in hot water then bending near the shape, then heating again and bending to the final contour.
  22. Very sorry you lost your friend. His great models honor his memory.
  23. I have been going through under glass, starting at the last page, and resurrecting threads of car models I find outstanding.
  24. Creativity rules!
