Very nice. I saw this on Facebook, but I don't recall who was making it. Source would be appreciated. Charlie Larkin -
When I was teaching, I repeatedly pointed out that most of the curriculum and lessons were written to be as off-putting as possible to as many kids as possible. I supplemented-, heavily, with my own materials, and in one case, I was handed what was openly admitted to be a clunker of a class, looked at the curriculum, said "oh, cool," round-filed it, and did my own stuff that the kids liked, that met desired end-reuslts, and they were learning from. Even if they weren't crazy over a particular area, they were getting value, and I was told as much by the end-users....the students! Yeah, admin didn't like hearing that. I will, however, like watching this. Charlie Larkin

Another Dupli-Color primer ?
charlie8575 replied to Bob Warfield's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'm usually able to get it for around $10-11. I'm wondering if MCW's new primers will start coming in oxide and white? I'd give that a try, especially if I can get a reasonable amount at a good price. Charlie Larkin -
When we moved in 2018, we 'lost" a lot of stuff because of dishonest movers, hired by dishonest lender that stole our home. Along with furniture, family photos and a bunch of other stuff, I think I lost at least a few models. At least I haven't been able to find them yet. A couple of weeks ago, I was on eBay looking for one of the models I believe to be lost, and got one at a great price. This Lindberg 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan LE was still factory sealed until earlier today when i opened it up to make sure everything was in order. And it is. The fun part is now going to be figuring out how to paint the red plastic grey for the cladding, and whatever color I decide to paint it in. I may do a red of some kind to make it easier. After all, isn't that the point of the 24-hour build...easy and fun? For obvious reasons, I won't be updating this too much for a couple of weeks. Figuring out colors. I'm leaning towards Iris, which is a purple-tinged very light grey, or Forest Green. Charlie Larkin

Another Dupli-Color primer ?
charlie8575 replied to Bob Warfield's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I've switched to Tamiya primer almost exclusively. I have no problems and it works under all types of paints. I am looking for a good light/platinum grey and red primer, though. Charlie Larkin -
I believe it is. Cool color, regardless. Charlie Larkin

Very nice build, Lee. Charlie Larkin

Clean, nicely-executed build. That's a nice color, too. Not far off from the Med. Quazar Blue. I don't remember if you could get it on a Beretta, but it fits the car well. Charlie Larkin

This is a re-issue of the original 1959 kit, and is reasonably-current production. Most hobby shops have, or can get one with no trouble. Goes together very easily overall. The only thing you'll need to do is have a little filler ready for the roof, which is separate. Plan on needing a little at the leading edge at the windshield, and where it attaches at the back in the quarter panels. I strongly urge you to apply the putty from below at the back. Applying it under the front of the roof will not be possible, so very careful application on the top-side will be necessary. You can also build this as a convertible with the boot. The boot may still need the filler as described for the roof section at the back of the car. Charlie Larkin

Not entirely sure, but I know they're not too tough or expensive to get. These are really nice builds. Charlie Larkin

Very nice work on both of them. Did the up-top come in the kit? Charlie Larkin

That came out nicely. I'd like a 1967-'68 Cougar, real and/or model. Great-looking cars. Charlie Larkin

Yep, you definitely turned this one around. Looking forward to what you're going to do with the AMX. Charlie Larkin -

And today, at least at the back corner of my driveway, the clouds broke! it does have a rather nice glint to it well-lit. I need to do some exterior photos in the spring when it's warmer, and more sun is out. Charlie Larkin
