  1. I got my set today...looks great at first glance.
  2. Tailgate also w/ the stamped letters.
  3. Someone once described TKM kits as 20 ft models--they look good from 20 feet away, behind a closed door. I like the idea of a '77 T-Bird...my Mom drove one back then, as a kid I rode in the back seat...
  4. The purple high riding one, if it were lower in the front, would remind me of the style of a Johnny Lightning Zinger diecast...neat, something different.
  5. Over the years, there have probably been dozens of threads like this on the MCM forum... it never ends, same ol', same ol'....a lot of people w/ too much time on their hands, I guess...
  6. Hot Wheels makes a 1/64th scale die cast; Greenlight has one in 1/43rd. Jada has one in 1/32nd. Haven't seen a larger scale die cast yet.
  7. Last winter was my first back in NE Ohio in 23 years, didn't think it was that bad--had a cold snap around Jan 1 for a couple weeks, but not much snow. Heard this is supposed to be a mild winter also. With the Lake Effect snow around here the amount of snow varies greatly depending on where you are relative to Lake Erie. Didn't' get much last winter here just south of Cleveland.
  8. I put my trust in Apple, I keep all my photos in iCloud and they get mirrored between my iPhone, iPad and Mac Book Pro. I also have them backed up to 2 external drives. I do have a paid account with Fotki, but don't use it a lot.
  9. Some 80s remakes I like a lot: 'No Way Out', never seen the original (The Big Clock, 1948). 'Against All Odds', the original 'Out of The Past' was quite good also. 'DOA' (never seen the original). I prefer the original 'Vanishing Point' over the remake. I like the original 'Magnificent Seven' over the remake, though I like the 'True Grit' remake more than the original. I like the original 'Get Carter' more than the remake. I like the original 'Italian Job' over the remake. I like both the original 'Insomnia' and the remake, probably the original a bit more.
  10. I remember seeing the steel mills in the Stuebenville, Ohio and Weirton area when I was a kid living in Steubenville in the 70s. There is an active steel mill in Cleveland close to me that I drive by often.
  11. It's a subtle shape that seems hard to get just right...the AAM '71 and Modelhaus '72 I have aren't perfect..
  12. The '73 Riviera sounds interesting to me, may have to get that one to go w/ the '71 and '72 I have.
  13. I've heard that...don't know about Tapani's. I have one Air Trax kit, the '69 Marauder--got it from Juha and it is excellent.
  14. I'm sure the '69 Corvair would work also, it and the '69 Galaxie are very common, both were just reissued a few years ago.
  15. Saw that Crosley and another one when I was in Winslow in 2015...on the street by the old hotel by the rail road tracks. And the red flatbed Ford (actually a stake bed).
  16. Yeah, had the first dusting of the season here outside Cleveland.
  17. I haven't read or heard anything, but a Lexus LC 500 would be nice to see..
  18. They have been repeating themselves in recent years with multiple reissues of certain kits in different box art and a few extras. But what they have in existing tooling that hasn't been reissued in the last 30-40 years is yielding some interesting reissues like the Toyota pickup, vans, Pacer, Gremlin, etc....wondering what they have left like that, thinking through the annuals that still exist and weren't modified for other years..
  19. Since his health issues started in mid 2017, I've had a few orders from him and exchanged a few emails with him. I've been patient and have received everything I've ordered. One orders got lost in the mail and returned to him, but eventually made it to me.
  20. I've been hearing '2-3 years' for the last 5 years or more. I'm skeptical... I think it's going to be quite a while before 3D printing at home is mainstream and as easy as buying a normal or resin kit or parts. I did a bit of 3D printing w/ a printer in my company office 4+ years ago, it was slow and tedious and more often than not, ended up w/ items that were broken or broke easily. I'm sure it's better now, but.. I have bought a few parts from a vendor on Shapeways, some neat stuff in a clear frosted material ('68-69 Plymouth parts).
  21. The Revell 5th gen and AMT 6th gen Camaros have nice IRS parts.
  22. My most recent DMV experience (June 2017) was surprisingly smooth. I managed to get a driver's license, VIN check, title, registration and plates all in about an hour and a half (incl. drive time between 3 locations). Maybe because I went on a random Thursday morning. I was moving into Ohio from Arizona w/ a vehicle that was still on an AZ temporary plate (got a 90 day temporary because I didn't want to register it in AZ--would have been about $500 to register in AZ, was only about $30 in Ohio). Getting a license plate bracket installed at the dealer took almost as long.
  23. Best to just block him and move on.
  24. Interesting..I'm a 20+ year Amazon customer and buy a lot of things from them, but never looked for model kits on Amazon...
  25. No, the Round 2 AMT reissues of the last 5 years or so have all been labeled as 'Retro Deluxe'. $25-ish is the usual price for them from online hobby vendors...
