  1. A box of goodies from HLJ came today.
  2. My understanding is the stock kit is a new tool, not related to the older race car kit.
  3. Yeah, it's stood empty for a long time on the busiest retail street (Mill Avenue) in downtown Tempe. Lots of new development has been going on around it. Sounds like there is a plan to re-develop it into a hotel w/ restaurant and retail space.
  4. Nice, should have mine in a couple days. Wondering about the separate fenders and hood, maybe they changed for a later model year? The R34 ran for 4-5 years? Or they have tuner versions planned w/ flares, etc (like all the coupe variants that have been done).
  5. I'd assume this kit is much the same as the Fire Rescue Van version reissued a few years ago. That kit says 'chevyvan 30' on the front fenders, and has 5 lug wheels. It's an early 70s model.
  6. Neat diorama...lots of neat details. I used to the drive by the Hayden Flour Mill in Tempe, AZ everyday when I worked in Tempe.
  7. Wasn't '66 the last year of the tri-power option on the GTO? '67 was when they went to the 400.
  8. This article popped up on Jalopnik today, some funny stuff in the comments. About inaccuracies regarding cars in movies. https://jalopnik.com/this-is-the-stuff-movies-constantly-get-wrong-about-car-1830982432?utm_source=jalopnik_newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2018-12-10
  9. Nah, looks like a '50s SBC w/ carb. https://www.revell.com/products/engines/visible-v-8-engine.html
  10. They still have some work to do, they have the Porsche 918 Spyder listed under 'Street Rods'..
  11. I like the Kia Stinger GT and the new Genesis G70.. ..
  12. Perry's Resin did a 4dr Maverick at one time, another caster may have also. Such a boring car, couldn't imagine much demand for one in 1/25th.
  13. 1/24th is the correct scale for a Beetle, would seem weird in 1/25th. The Revell of Germany and Tamiya ones are 1/24th also.
  14. That's the Revell '94 Caprice taxi/police car kit.
  15. I remember the 1997 El Nino storms...I was in N. California for a few days in the fall...I remember getting caught out in downpours in Santa Clara and San Jose and freeway underpasses flooding..
  16. Just your opinion, the market thinks differently---truck, CUV andSUV sales are pretty much at an all time high these days and make up a large percentage of sales. GM's plant closures are for slow selling cars.
  17. The facelifted 2019 Cherokee looks better.
  18. The Missing Link truck is the later '73-79 dentside style though...'73-79 style...not a '67-72 bumpside. Different cab.
  19. I think that grille insert is specific to certain trims, like the Laramie Longhorn. I like the regular Laramie grille.
  20. The Ram 1500 is the best looking of the Big 3 full size trucks currently, IMO. The carryover Ram 2500 and 3500 still have the ugly pig snout grille, though.
  21. That's the slowest form of shipping, with no tracking I think. I stick w/ EMS shipping w/ HLJ---usually get packages with 3-4 business days and have tracking.
  22. Just an unusual detail of an era of flamboyant styling, I guess..similar to the '59 Chevy full size cars..
  23. Model Roundup is showing it and the '68 Chevelle as January releases. I figure I'll order one or two once it's available from them.
  24. It's just to get attention...people that buy those cars and put wraps on them aren't car enthusiasts... I like how that guy decorated his Ford Ka to fit in w/ the gold Lambo and G-wagen.
  25. I like what I've seen of the Gladiator so far..want to see one in person. I'm not a truck guy, but I like this...looks like it would be fun and practical. Though I'm a Grand Cherokee owner/fan, I also like Wranglers.
