Chevelle knowledge needed '70 to '71
Rob Hall replied to Beans's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
One resin part I've looked for before but haven't found is a flat hood for the '70-72 Chevelles... -

Ford C800 Gar-Wood Load Packer. It's Happening!

Maybe a Waste Management or BFI branded version. Barone Sanitation decals would be neat also. -

One, unless some one is specifically into garbage trucks. Same with a wrecker or other body types, I’d think. -

Ford C800 Gar-Wood Load Packer. It's Happening!
Rob Hall replied to chuckyr's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
The 'lost kit' angle of the garbage truck is something they can use to hype sales, since the garbage truck was something announced almost 50 years ago but never produced. A wrecker would be interesting, but that would be a new venture w/o the 'lost kit' angle. -
My memory on those kits is fuzzy, but wasn’t the black diecast ‘heist’ F& F Civic that Revell did a different generation than the pink coupe kit?

It's just really hard to take seriously a company that puts out amateur videos... if I wasn't familiar w/ Round 2's products already, I'd be wary. -
What did you see on the road today?
Rob Hall replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Beach day today..drove up to Presque Isle State Park in Erie, PA to sit on the beach for a while and walk in the surf...very relaxing. Stopped at a 1/2 dozen other beaches along Lake Erie on the way home...saw a variety of interesting cars today. Saw a new Ford Bronco in person for the first time--a gray 2dr out front of a Ford dealer, saw a Porsche Taycan for the first time--a pale blue (almost white) one in Conneaut, Ohio, saw a sharp dark red '70-ish Nova w/ a large cowl hood scoop, a very clean dark blue '65 Mustang 2+2 on I-90, a dark gray w/ black stripes current Shelby GT500, a bright yellow Lambo Huracan. At a beach in Ashtabula, Ohio saw a car show by the water, incl a neat '62 Mercury 4dr. On my street tonight when I got home, saw a very sharp white w/ red interior '70 GTO in a driveway next to a sharp black '73-74 Challenger. -

I’d assume some of the setback is for clearance since the C cab is a COE. -
I remember those 80s catalogs. Bought a few Johan kits from those catalogs back then. The ‘70 Cutlass, ‘66 Marlin, Superbird, AMX, ‘70 Eldorado, ‘68 Cadillac convertible, ‘74 AMX, and Rebel Machine IIRC. This was around ‘86-88 when I was in high school. My first Johans had been about a decade earlier, when I built the ‘60 Plymouth wagon and ‘76 Eldorado.

The production seemed very amateurish and quickly hacked together..and the talking head said he wasn't a car guy and that sci-fi was his thing. -

One thing the Blues Brothers Monaco has going for it is tooling up a '74 Dodge Monaco lends it self to multiple versions...can do a BB car, a BB Chicago police car, other police cars, a plain Monaco, etc..as we have seen Greenlight do with their Monaco diecast in multiple scales. Some other tv/movie cars would be one-version only tools, like the Griswold Family Truckster.. -

It was mentioned in the video that Round 2 was unable to acquire the wood master so this is apparently new tooling from scratch. -

For speculation on new tools of current subjects, a Mustang Mach 1 and Bronco would be nice. Or a C8 and Shelby GT500. Or a Mustang Mach-E and a Tesla Model S for really modern subjects. For the TV/movie car that hadn’t been done, the Blues Brothers Monaco would be great. Maybe the Eleanor Shelby if Round 2 could secure the licensing. I could see that derived from their existing ‘67 Shelby tooling. For a more recent TV/movie subject, can’t come up with anything. I assume it won’t be another Fast & Furious subject, since Revell has been doing them recently. -

Nothing new so far..just showed the mockup of the Californian and the box art for the Chevy II wagon w/ trailer. Showed the Surf Shark ambulance built up, said a full ambulance version is in the works. Said two new modern car subject kits are coming next year (current subjects). Said a new TV/movie kit is coming next year, something that hasn't been done before... The new heavy truck announcement is... -
