Cannonball Run?
-
Other than shipping delays, I've never had a problem w/ Amazon delivery..I get packages from them sometimes 4 times a week, they always put them by the front door. With 3 cameras I can see them walking up the drive to the door. Walmart delivery has been fine also, along w/ Instacart for my local groceries. I've had USPS, UPS and Fed Ex leave packages for other neighbors at my door...once got what was clearly an Apple laptop left at my door for a neighbor 5 houses down the street..walked it down. The most annoying thing is even after over 4 years here, i still get mail addressed to the previous owners.

I've had that happen more than once...with the USPS, I called the local PO and told them about it....the package showed up a couple hours later. A couple times, the package had been delivered to a house w/ the same number but two streets over on a street with a very similar name..

Let's see your geegaws!
Rob Hall replied to Lunajammer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Isn't it usually 'gewgaws'? First time I noticed the spelling difference in this thread.... -
Any news of Revell do something this year !
Rob Hall replied to Mr mopar's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
This has been covered in a couple threads..several new and modified releases coming from the German side (the Jaguar XK-E coupe and roadster, VW van variations, new tool 70s Porsche 911, etc), and the Bronco pickup w/ off road vehicle on a trailer... -
FSM - The Automotive Content Thread
Rob Hall replied to vincen47's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Have you tried asking about in the FSM forums? Seems like the appropriate place. -
I wondered about that....the estimated speed came from the SUV's telemetry, that may not be admissible for a citation, since it wasn't recorded by a speed camera (stationary or officer-used).

Yeah, and those probably won't be available at the usual vendors until May...

I watched a 1968 thriller w/ Segal and Rod Steiger over the weekend, 'No Way to Treat a Lady'...good flick w/ Segal as an NY detective and Steiger as a theatrical serial killer.

No idea, a set of decals of some sort. Round 2 has done decal sets previously.

Is the amt 1950 chevy pickup being discontinued?
Rob Hall replied to youpey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Well, it's been 4 years since that 76 garage issue. But there are plenty of them on eBay and other sources, easy to find. They will probably reissue it eventually, maybe in Coke livery? Edit: there was a Coke version previously of the '50 Chevy, completely forgot about that one. -
I was only referring to exterior visual differences. I wonder if Round 2 will actually change anything beyond maybe adding badging.

Sharp items... definitely interested in some of these.

No idea..it is interesting they are billing the ht as a 442, because IIRC the original was not billed as such (I have one in storage, not convenient to check). But I don't think there was much visual differentiation between a Cutlass and Cutlass 442 in '64 other than small badges.

Loving the spring weather this past weekend and today.

Favorite Online Model Store?
Rob Hall replied to chasracer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I use Hobby Link Japan for import kits, Model Roundup and Spotlight Hobbies for domestic, eBay for out-of-production... -
I had to dodge an old console TV that fell out a truck and ended up in the middle of a lane of I-80 near Vacaville, CA about 15 years ago...I recall seeing a grubby V8 w/ transmission on the side of I-40 in NM a few years ago...

Yeah, that's what they look like to me...never had the trailer, but built several of the Revell 1/32 snap kits as a kid..I remember building a custom El Camino w/ dirt bike that had wheels and tires like that. Plastic tire that the wheel fits into, then snaps over the axle end.
-
That's a relatively modern tool, I'd assume it's still with Revell...last reissued in 2010 (convertible) and 2015 (ht).

History of Revell's Squarebody Pickup kits
Rob Hall replied to kalbert's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
The square bodies have definitely been getting attention lately in diecast, a bunch of nice ones from Greenlight, M2 and Auto World in the last year or two. Maybe their success will inspire a kit company to do something...the demand is there, I would think. -
The '64 Galaxie is one they haven't done the Retro Deluxe packaging, etc for isn't it? They've done the '60,'61,'63,'65, and '66 in the Retro style over the last decade... Looks like the last issue was the Model King one from 2007...found this.

'68-72 Chevy PickUp rummors about reissue?
Rob Hall replied to Sergey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Yeah, same optional wheels in the Racer's Wedge...they look really out of place. Something from the 90s reissue, I presume. I don't remember them in the one I built back then. They look to me like the optional wheels from the '89 Probe GT kit (seriously!), if memory serves me.. Here they are on the Racer's Wedge chrome tree:
