Fantastic build and photos!

I didn't spend any time fact checking or number crunching your data.........one reason is I am a ex-resin producer. I produced a few kits before throwing in the towel. The cost is more than silicon, resin and other media.....it's all the time to create masters to stuffing boxes (a lot of time for a full detail kit.) I enjoyed my time producing kits.....but the effort start to finish took it's toll. I had masters complete or near for 3 other kits that will never see production. The main reason is the cost....in time and money. My last kit.....

I want to build more of these.......great kits that NEVER sold well per those in the know at Monogram....

You took on a Mans job with that top chop....well done! -
GRATE spin on that build!!!!

Same here....I was a big seller at one time...no longer. And buying much less too......but kinda goes with age.....

When you create a listing for an item to sell you are required to check a box combined shipping or not.....so if an auction does not state seller does.....assume they do not. I have had 3 sellers in the last 3 months never ship an item.......I got all my money back...but took a month or two. Still use ebay since 1999.

For some reason I really like that!

It's such a neat kit......part of it was remembering how hard it was back in the 60's to decide hoe to build it!!! My Hot Wheels style build.......

My take on the Firebird match racer

That's one of the best builds of that kit I have seen!!!! That is one of the early Model King kits I worked on. Yet to build one....but yours is great! Dave had some art and I turned it into decal print art. -
A super nice neat clean build. It's such a odd kit to have survived. I mean there are plenty other kits of the era that I wish had survived but long gone........was this mold sitting un-noticed in the corner of the vault?? I'm glad it did make it as it;s a great look at AMT in the era. Hope you don't mind my build......

Offbeat Places You Have Purchased Model Kits?
Dave Van replied to Casey's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My two best hauls were the old hardware store around 1979 that was frozen in time about 1967. Took me 3 trips to get it all. Most unusual was I was out checking in at some race shops in Harrisburg Concord NC area. Drove by a wholesale pharmaceutical company that said it had toys on close out. Had 3 kids at home so I stop. Found little.....but did find a Monogram Bill Elliott Melling Thunderbird kit for $2. Took it to the register and the guy behind the counter asked if I wanted more of the Elliott kits. I said yes....he said how many.....he said I have 300 on hand.......give me $1 each if you take all of them. I DID......a year later the NASCAR boom hit and I sold them for more than a $1 for sure. -
Very cool!!! I feel I could live in that!!!

good start....I like the kit....warts and all......

What a great build!! I think there is a photo of it in a old Racing Pictorial magazine.....A+++ Just a FYI if one wanted to build one like this....the S&H Torino combined with the recent ISSAC Torino is an easy kit bash. -
