It looks amazing in person but your photos always allow me to see your models in more detail. -
Great to see you back on this project. I love chopped 3W 36 Fords in general but this one is definitely an icon of hot rodding.

I expressed my intention to build a Tudor back on page 2 of this thread on May 30 and now I have finally got it started. I am extremely impressed with the highly modified Tudors being built on this thread. Mine however will not stray far from the kit except for the replacement and addition of a few parts and some alterations to the interior. It is a tribute to a car I have seen many times and really like. I figure this will be the twenty-third Revell 1/25 '32 Ford I have built so I do have a bit of a formula in that I glue as many of the parts to the frame as possible before painting. I also replace the air bags on the rear axle with rods the same diameter as the holes in the floor so I can adjust the rear stance. The wheels and tires are from the AMT Ala Kart.

Thanks Justin. Your Morgan inspired me to finally build mine. Thanks Jim. I am happy I was able to introduce Morgans to you. They are still being built and still look much the same !!

Thanks everyone. A friend sent photos of the model to Bob Sterne the son of the original owner. Bob got back to me with a detailed history of the actual car and a bunch of photos. The picture I really like is this one of Sir Stirling Moss and his wife Lady Suzy duplicating the 1966 photo 43 years later with the restored car at the 2009 Goodwood Festival of Speed. How cool is that !!??

I was a big fan of Morgans in High School. Two of my teachers had Morgans. I often visited GB Sterne's dealership in Burnaby and watched him race Morgans at Westwood. In university I was in the sports club with GB's son who of course had a Morgan. The president of the club bought the first Morgan PLus 8 in Canada when he graduated and got a full time job. My model is a tribute to how one of GB Sterne's Morgans looked when Sir Sirling Moss drove it on parade laps around Westwood at a big race weekend in 1966. The model was built from the excellent Tamiya Morgan 4/4 kit that I am sure glad I bought during the short time it was available. One has to be a true Morgan aficionado to identify the precise series of a Morgan but the Tamiya 4/4 version is definitely newer than the one my model represents which from what I have been able to determine was a Triumph powered 1963 Plus 4 with a bench seat. Low back bucket seats became available in 1971. To build the model, the central body was separated from the fenders to facilitate the two-tone paint job. In the interior I added a roll bar, lowered the seat backs and converted it to left hand steering. This conversion involved moving and modifying a lot of things, not just the steering wheel which is now a Model Car Garage Banjo unit to give the interior a more vintage look. The dash required significant modifications. The brake, clutch and gas pedals were of course swapped side to side. The windshield wipers were also re-orientated. In the engine compartment the steering linkage was relocated to the left side as was the master cylinder. Various openings for right hand steering were filled.

Great to see a fresh build of this venerable kit. You certainly did a fabulous job.

Super nice 40 Ford. Well built in all respects.

I really like both of your Foose Cady conversions especially the fastback. I have long admired a local restored 47 Cadillac fastback and thought it would make a great custom. You have done that.

Beautiful model. I saw the 49s race at the 1967 Canadian Grand Prix at Mosport. There were three 49s for Clark, Hill and Canadian Eppie Weitzes. Clark was on the pole and set the fastest lap. It was a wet race. Clark and Weitzes DNF'd. Hill finished fourth behind Brabham, Hulme and Gurney.

Thanks Michael - Tommy and Shelby had some good times together later in their lives. They were close in age so had many things in common. I think on one occasion Tommy had the first model I built of his GT350R with him to show Shelby. -
Beautifully built. Gorgeous model. Perfect in all respects. Congratulations.
