Hello Everybody! I know that the updates have been slow in coming but it seems that life has a way of interfering with our hobbies. I haven't given up yet. Now that the foil work is as done as I'm going to get it, I've begun to move on with the more regular parts of the build. This is the fender mounted whip antenna, it looks almost comically out of scale. In 1:25 scale it measures out to be almost two inches thick. That just won't do. To fix the antenna, I cut off the radiator hose sized mast, drilled out the base and replaced the mast with a length of guitar string. It looks much more realistic. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.

Hello Everybody! After a month of struggle, the foil work is done! Well, with the exception of the little bit that I overlooked which was discovered as I edited the photos. In any event, I'm now beginning to feel that I can move on with the rest of the work on this one. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.

Hello Everybody! As some of you may know, I've been going back over my old threads and updating old photos and replacing broken photo links. To say that there is a lot of work involved in such a project is a bit of an understatement. I know that some of these threads are rather old but I feel that they are important just the same. Thank you for your patience and I hope you enjoy. David G.

Hello Everybody! Though it may seem like it, I haven't given up on this one. Progress foiling with this most recent order of BMF is to say the least, slow and frustrating. But I'm learning to work with it. After trimming an appropriate sized piece of foil I do an initial burnishing in place to work the foil into the basic shape of where it will go. I then brush the areas where I intend to apply the foil with a diluted solution of Micro Krystal Klear and allow that to rest for a couple of minutes before reapplying and reburnishing the foil. I then have to allow about ten minutes for the glue to set before the final trimming. It's tedious to say the least. Though the foil is rough in around the window trim areas, thankfully it looks fairly good on the fins and hood spears. It's just frustrating to have put so much time and effort into this model then to have to struggle with something so basic only to achieve mediocre results. I hope that BMF gets this quality issue sorted out. I do have some old Testors Model Master foil, I may give that a shot. David G.

My wife and I saw them in concert when they toured this album in '87. Absolutely brilliant show. An unfortunate story but it's good that you were able to get through it. Pink Floyd's music has always had a deep psychological resonance with me too. David G. -

I agree! Every song on that LP is great but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be Lazy David G. -

Stevie is one of my all-time favorites too. Ironically his best album (IMHO) The Sky Is Crying, was released after he died. It's a shame he died as young as he did. We can only imagine where his skills would have taken him. This is amazing! I haven't heard this until now. It really draws one in in a way similar to The Wall by Pink Floyd. I'm going to have to get a copy of this, thanks for sharing it. David G. -
Ah, I found it! I followed your WIP on this and it's nice to see it in the Under Glass section. Beautiful paintwork, detailing and assembly, what's not to love? David G.

A nice historic model from back when you could get one in "any color you wanted as long as it was black." Well done Sir! David G. -

Very Cool! My wife owned one of these back in the Eighties. Hers was robin's egg blue with a front-mounted spare. Seeing yours brought back some fond memories. I'd be great to build one for her, what kit is this? David G. -
Hello Everybody! Many of us grew up in a time when record albums were the popular music medium. We didn't download songs from Amazon or iTunes, we went to our local record shop or department store and bought records. If you liked a particular song, there were 45 rpm singles. If you were really into the band or artist, you would likely seek out their latest album on a 33 & 1/3 rpm album. Many of us also have a band or group that we encountered at a young and impressionable age which had a lasting and profound influence over the remainder of our lives. An album that in hearing for the first time, changed the way you saw the world, the way saw music, the way you saw yourself. An album that was a true life-altering event, an album that changed your life. I invite you to write a review of that album, how it made you feel and how it changed your life. For me, that band was Black Sabbath and the album was Master of Reality. Here's my review. ***** Artist or Group: Black Sabbath Album: Master of Reality Release Date: July, 1971 I heard Master of Reality for the first time when I was twelve years old. To call that experience life-changing would be an understatement. Prior to hearing this album, I had only been exposed to the standard 70's AM radio mix of Country, Rock and Pop music. Though there was still some good music being created, in the mid 70's, music was already beginning to devolve from art and personal expression into entertainment and product. Even at the age of twelve years, I could sense this hollow shallowness creeping into music. Hearing Master of Reality completely shattered this! Master of Reality- raw, dark, dangerous. It was powerful magic. It was angry and yet at the same time, it was hopeful. It was the embodiment of everything that I instinctively knew was missing from the music that I grew up with. My eyes were opened to the true power of music. It was in that moment that I began to create the core of a belief that solidified itself decades later: Music is the voice of the soul. It's the one thing that we as humans can do that sets us apart from other life on the planet. It's true that birds sing but they do so for the same reason that dogs bark or crickets chirp, it's in their nature. Humans sing to express emotions- to communicate thoughts and feelings that are beyond words. To give voice to the soul. Thanks for your indulgence, I look forward to reading your album reviews and insights. David G.
