  1. Excellent work! It reminds me of the ones I used to see featured in the VW magazines in the 80s. David G.
  2. OK. I wanted to try Molotow chrome pens on this build, so I ordered some. When they came in I got to work using them on the trim around the windows where I would normally use BMF. I was less than pleased with the results. The Pens work beautifully, it's my lack of skill that is the problem. I need more practice in surface prep and application. Luckily, the Molotow paint is water based and I was able to remove most of it and apply BMF in its place. Once I find my own best way to use these pens, I'm sure to find them very useful. Thanks for looking and please feel free to comment. David G.
  3. Astoundingly realistic! David G.
  4. Fantastic work! I love the whole Dystopian-Retro-Future-Steampunk style. David G.
  5. Thanks James, I think that I may finish 'er up this time. That's a nice Impala Dennis. Do you remember what kit it is? Thanks Marty. David G.
  6. Nicely done. David G.
  7. Excellent conversion- well done! David G.
  8. OK, finished. I have a couple of other projects going right now that require some wait-time for paint related matters. So after a year-and-a-half break, it's time to see if I can get this one a little closer to completion. Besides, it's nearly the end of April and I have yet to finish a build. I've started applying the foil to the brightwork trim. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.
  9. Great start! I'm sure that most of us on this forum have built at least one of these over the years. David G.
  10. Here are a set of .50 cal ammo cans I built for the baskets in the cargo area. Thanks again, David G.
  11. Excellent 80's Street Machine! Paint and detail work look great. David G.
  12. That's a fine second build! David G.
  13. Nicely done! David G.
  14. Nicely done, excellent detail work on the rear panel and taillights. David G.
  15. Thanks for the tip Dan. I did get it apart safely through a mixture of patience and persistence. It was a little tricky. David G.
  16. Thanks again for the kind comments. I think I'll try to find some hubcaps for the front wheels. From this angle, the interior looks busy enough. Lots of "future tech" bits glued to the dashboard. I'm fairly happy with the interior. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.
  17. I did some work on a few cargo area accessories. They still need some highlighting to punch up the details a little, but it's a good start. I know it's not much of an update, but thanks for taking the time to look. And as always, please feel free to comment. David G.
  18. For the Hello Karl, I'm actually working on that MPC Pacer right now so I've already borrowed the seats and steering wheel from it. I was hoping to avoid modifying the seats so I've been searching for old Jeep CJ kits from that era. The old Jeeps should have seats with the proper upholstery pattern, the same center console and possibly an under-dash package shelf to boot. But the thrill is in the hunt, right? Thanks again, David G.
  19. Thanks for the information Hugo. I think I'm going to build this as curbside and focus on the interior bits and body features- spoilers and such. Right now I'm looking for some sport mirrors and AMC bucket seats and center console. Thanks, David G.
  20. Clean and crisp! Worthy of a cover photo! David G.
  21. I built one of these last year, it's a fun kit. Yours came out great! David G.
  22. Very Interesting! David G.
  23. Thanks Ron. Here's a little more for those who may be interested. I decided on color-keyed custom racing seats for the interior. The dash detail is mostly finished. I'm currently searching for a twin grip aircraft-style steering wheel. I also got some "carpet" laid down. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.
