This one is finished and can be seen in the Under Glass section. Thanks, David G. -
The Moebius 1971 Ford Ranger. This is a very good kit and it builds up into a well proportioned representation. The plastic does have an odd texture cast into it. Although in various internet reviews of the kit, we are assured that this will have no effect on the finished paint, I did have some of the texture show through the final coat of paint on the hood. Not terrible, but noticeable. For those who may be interested, here is a link to the build thread. Complete with 1972 Arizona Non-Commercial plates. I'm not sure of the origin of the alignment issue between the bed and the cab. I did use PVA to secure them both to the frame, so I may be able to correct that. The decals that Moebius provided for this kit are excellent. They were well printed, thin enough to conform and durable enough to work with. And here' s the special "RoadKill" edition! As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.

For those of you who are still watching, here's another update. The bed is mostly done. On any vehicle more than a few days old, there's gonna be dirt. I also could have taken care of the ejector pin marks, but I chose not to. The wood-grain on the tailgate is a decal. There are also decals for the badges on the sides that I have yet to apply. It looks like I need to do a bit of touch-up work too. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G. -

Thanks for all the comments and observations. Sorry it's been so long since the last update but my computer crashed on October 30th and I'm just now starting to get things back to normal. So here's the updates: Got the interior finished. Splendid XLT luxury- -in warm 70's earth tones. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and always feel free to comment. David G. -

Yeah it's a little too late for that, but thanks for the tip. Besides, all the images I found online for Ford V8s from that era had the brackets painted the same color as the block. No biggie. David G. -
Excellent engine detail! I'll be watching this one. David G.

Thanks for all the kind comments. Most of the heavy lifting is done on this one, I'm just working on the little fiddly bits. Here's a test fit of the major body structures to check the need for any final adjustments before starting the finish work. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G. -
I usually paint the gauges silver then use a black wash to bring out the raised details. Here's a little more detailed description of the method I usually use in one of my other posts: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/114936-revell-1960-chevy-september-21-update/?page=1 David G.

Nice looking Plymouth. Did you use foil on the trim or paint it? I built one earlier this year, it's a nice kit. David G.
