  1. My very first car that I bought with my own ca$h was a '60 Pontiac Ventura 4-dr. that I beat the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH out of and blew the motor after I had promised it as a trade-in on my first new car. Got the engine "patched up" and made the trade.
  2. Wow Kennyboy, I can see that you went "over the top" on this build too. I've always admired your modeling skills and you never seem to disappoint. Great job!
  3. If you find irksome things in everything you do, you need to do other things that won't irk you. I find that as I get older, there are less and less things that irk me. Things that mattered when I was much younger, don't matter much anymore. Life changes and so do people.
  4. That Ventura sure is tempting. I'd like to pass on that kit as I have plenty to build, but???
  5. A sweet lookin' build Harry and great subject matter as well.
  6. What pleased me today was landing at O'Hare Airport after a weeks stay in a beach condo in Florida. I enjoyed the warmth and the long walks on the beach, and I was hopin' to leave my cough in Florida but it came back home with me. Oh well, I'll have to give the doc a call next week. It was great to get away for the week even though there's no Portillo's down that way.
  7. That Plymouth is lookin' good in that color Steven, and of course I just love dem Mopars!
  8. While I didn't plan on either one today, the landscaper shows up and also the guy to work on my garage door in the same time frame. What a circus, at least things got done around here.
  9. I've used HOK with Tamiya and Testors paints with no problems.
  10. Black Gold also has HOK paints in jars for air-brushing as well as "rattle cans."
  11. While I have no photos to post, there are hundreds of photos on the Spotlight Hobbies forum.
  12. Looks like a great start on your upcoming build Andy, and you'll be a "happy camper" when it's done.
  13. Hey guys, don't forget the S.L.A. M. meeting this Saturday (18th) in Delavan, Wisconsin. Always a good time.
  14. Who wants to be towing their bedroom an kitchen around everywhere they're going, even if it's just to the store for a loaf of bread and a case of pop? Driving around in a motorhome or towing a trailer is not my IDEA of a vacation. The cost is high, gas parking fees, insurance, maintenance, storage, etc. NO thanks!
  15. TWO light coats of clear followed by a wet coat with 20 minute intervals. And yes I warm up the can for 'bout 5 - 6 minutes before spraying each coat.
  16. Bob's Paint is supposed to be at the NNL East this weekend, so check out his paint and chrome plating service. You'll be glad you did.
  17. I have the Revell 3-Window kit built up and in my display case, and I wouldn't hesitate to get another one. Very nice kit.
  18. Which reminds me that I need to dig out my Jo Han Road Runner and build it. Thanks!
  19. I've been usin' the tubes for years, and yes they do leak and the caps crack as well. This last pair of tubes was great with no leaks. I just may try the bottle next time. Thanks!
  20. I've never used HOK in a "rattle can," only Black Gold. And I would not polish out any paint job unless it was a solid color. For all others I use a few clear coats, and then polish it out to get a real shine after letting the clear "gas out" for a couple of weeks.
  21. Looks like you're off to a good start on that Continental Steven. I have a convertible kit in my "stash" that I hope to build some day along with many other kits.
  22. Nice build Nitro Norm. It wouldn't be a gasser and probably not an altered either. Maybe just a "match racer" to tear up outlaw tracks?
  23. I sometimes use Black Gold in rattle cans which is just repackaged HOK paints and they seem to work well for me, and also no matter what I use for a primer or clear coat.
  24. Lookin' real good Bill, as I saw the movie last week and of course I just love dem Mopars!
  25. Not sunny today, I hope the weather changes for the better next week.
