Bill, Would using a sealer prevent any interactions between paint and plastic. It's my understanding sealers are for creating a barrier so that new paint won't react with older paint on a car. Just curious with your experience on sealers. Do you have any recommendations or caveats using it? Thanks Bob

Never Forget. EVER! 18 years ago today.

My mom and sister had planned to come and visit me in Santa Clara. My dad had Parkinsons and my mom was primary care giver. She had someone who could help watch him for a couple of days so she could get a break. I was concerned that Marshall law would be declared and they would get stuck in the bay area. They ended up changing their plans. We must not forget. -
I'm looking forward to the Coke themed borg cube. We are the borg. You will drink coke and will will plaster your planet with coke signs. Resistence is futile!

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!

Great look on the truck. Colors look great. Is the graphic on the door a decal? -
Looking forward to seeing this build. I agree I hated those stupid donut box kits. Couldn't stack them and in a lot of cases the boxes weren't glued together well either.

The OP posted the question of offering meaningless praise or constructive criticism. There have been many comments that many are hesitant to offer constructive criticism bbecuase of bad experiences in the past. Thus we end up with lots of nice model comments for mediocre models being posted or no comments at all. This is not a good thing for anyone. The forum is for sharing ideas and techniques. This all boils down to poor communication. The poster needs to say they desire critical feedback so those commenting don't feel like they are walking into a mine field. If the poster hasn't make the effort to comment on an aspect of the model presented. It provides meaningful feedback.

I agree the white will look the best.

Nicely done. Great job of selecting parts. The weathering is perfect.

That engine is amazing. Is it 25th scale? What printer are you using and what is the printer cost.? How much does it cost to print the engine. What software are you using to create the engine?

First off if your goal is to improve your skills then state when you post your work say that you are open to constructive criticism. Second false praise is no help to anyone. Not commenting at all is equally negative. The best way to encourage others is to make positive comments on the things they've done well. We seldom see models that are a complete disaster. Really all boils down to communicating well.

This subject has come up many times. It is a road filled with land mines. Unfortunately there are some who do not take criticism well. It really helps when some posts there work and asks for all comments positive or suggestions for improvement. Otherwise make positive comments on the things done well. False praise is not helping anyone.

Not today but Monday. Went to my sisters on Monday to watch drag race at Indy. Watched first rounds on FS1 (2 hrs). Switched to Fox for semifinals and finals(3.5hrs). Get to end of recording and miss top fuel final and funny car final becuase recording ends. The number of commercials were ridiculous and yhey couldn't make sure that all of the program fit. Exactly why I refuse to pay for tv programming. Theyve gotten way too greedy.

How high will it go?

If you set a limit and stick to it you won't get caught in a bid war. Bidding wars result from lack of discipline. -
A General Observation
bobthehobbyguy replied to TarheelRick's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think that you don't see that many models with panhard bars becuase tgey aren't always included in the kits. If one primarily builds out of the box they might not bother scratchbuilding one for accuracy. If you're building curbside then it silly to display the underneath because you aren't concerned with a lot of details that don't show. -
Round 2 has chosen to spend their development dollars on repair and restoring the automotive tooling they have to satisfy those who are in the market for nostagic kits. In addition they've chosen to spend development money new tooling for the sci fi market. Sound like a pretty good plan to me.
