  1. It's a great looking kit. The engine has dual fours on a medium-rise intake; headers as well, IIRC. My only 'complaint' is the presence of the A.I.R. Pump (same as the phantom 1969 427 COPO Nova and the '67 SS-396 Camaro -- the earlier Revell Mark IV's are sans the 'pump).
  2. I agree, with some amendments: 1.) Demolish the tooling for those horrible Rallye GT tyres for the custom option. Melt-down the tooling -- whatever it takes. 2.) Updated engine options (a simple single four barrel intake vs. that darling of the seventies turbo bollocks; nice set of headers-- nothing too fancy) 3.) Updated / revised optional custom wheels (Cragar S/ST's are bland; and the 4-slot 'kidney cut' wheels are just no-no) The '63 Split Window would be nice to have again. Ditch the 1980's livery --including the wheels-- and add back the 60's - 70's options. Yes, yes, yes... ad infinitum to the Supra (and/or Celica). And, um, *cough* new tyres *cough*. Now, I wonder if Round2 could possible retool / new tool the AMT Chevy Van to its origins with the optional sidelights and opening hood? It's been done with the Olds Convertible, the '63 Nova Wagon, and the 4-4-2 Hardtop -- that classic van with a full complement of options (including their iteration of the 'Open Road' et al. camper top) would sell L.A.M.F.
  3. If not in the S&M livery, at least a 'Street Freak' or even a plain P/S. I'd even go as far as hoping for a Torqueflite and/or 440 with single four barrel and Six Barrel induction options. The last issue of the '67 Camaro was the Nickey 427 a few years ago. Certainly I'm not alone in hoping that the car returns (with interior options -- the Nickey version has the Custom [?] interior) in perhaps --get this-- Dana 427 livery (with the L71 engine --sans A.I.R. Pump) .
  4. I really like that paint -- colour and finish. Are those inner-portion of the tail lamps painted amber? If so, that is a nice touch; certainly something for me to consider with my 1967 or 1968 Camaro kits -- a 'phantom' European-Asian style setup.
  5. I'd like to see Revell combine the 1970 Road Runner interior with the 1970 SuperBird. That 'GTX' interior with the 'Bird, while technically correct, isn't truly representative of how most 'Birds were fitted. Make it a 2-in-1: both interior options (assuming that the '70 GTX interior hasn't been irreversibly modified) , and some period-correct custom wheels & tyres (I vote for Motor Wheels Spyders).
  6. Thankfully they're NOT those horrible 'snow tyres' Rallye GT which AMT used as 'custom' tyres for far too many years. Unfortunately, those ugly things are still around; witness the optional tyres in the 1/16 scale fifties Chevy's and the Thunderbird. Yuck. You're better off buying a set of tyres from Fireball.
  7. Things like ridding it of parting lines and sink marques? ?
  8. Me, too. It's not as if they have to create unique tyres for this kit (!!). Surely, the plastic tyres can be made to look good (Tamiya Rubber:Black aerosol is perfect), but still...
  9. That's been my contention. The Dana 60 --while a common upgrade-- didn't premiere until the 1966 model year. The 8.75'' was the only rear , regardless of transmission (including the 1964-1965 Hemi, which were race-only until '66). IIRC, Landy's '65 Coronet 'WO51'-come-A/FX has two different tail lamp bezels : one with the Back-Up lamp (mandated by 01/01/1965; optional or standard on the 500 model until the mandate) , and one without that provision (e.g., a 'blank' section with the Dodge 'Tri-Star' emblem cast with the bezel).
  10. I used to pass-by that address every day for years, never knowing that it was onetime Roth's shop!
  11. That's exactly what I've been using. I just don't trust my arthritis anymore (haha) as I've slipped-and-gouged too many times with that blade. Thanks ne'er-the-less for the suggestion.
  12. Excellent! Just what I was looking for. Not sure how I'd missed it yesterday when I was perusing their site (I buy independent as often as possible) -- thanks much for not only tracking it down, but also for linking it.
  13. Thanks to both of you for your replies. I should have specified that, when I'm talking about employing an Xacto for scraping ejector marques, I'm using the 'atypical' blades (e.g., not the Number 11), I'm looking for an in es. hand-held 'planer' or scraper; a tool which I may use to pull-towards me whose scraping surface is 'flat'(bevelled ?). Here's the Luka Cee tutorial featuring the scraper :
  14. Ever since watching a tutorial regarding ejector pin marques on Luka Cee's YouTube channel last night, I've been on a quest for a plastic scraper. He mentions that Tamiya makes one, and that the one he's employed for the video was a Squadron piece. I've found the Squadron piece ( Squadron Products SEAM SCRAPER [SQU10203] - HobbyTown ) and seems like no one has it (i.e., 'out-of-stock') . I've had no luck finding the Tamiya scraper... Is there another alternative? I've been using different X-Acto blades for scraping ejector pin marques, but am not comfortable with that approach. I'd rather have a tool that's specific for that use (better control and a 'cleaner' edge on the business end). Thanks much.
  15. If it's orange-label glue you seek, get a bottle of Tamiya. Much, much better product anyhow. I recommend their ''Thin'' glue as well (green-label bottle) .
  16. Barring decal availability : One may also mask-off the clustre (or paint white if not already moulded as such) then 'wash' the clustre with either Tamiya Panel Accent or thinned black paint, which will leave the raised characters in white.
  17. I'd read an article about that car some years ago in Mopar Action. IIRC, that iteration of the Charger --kit-wise-- is based upon the all-new tooling 1969 Charger , and not that ancient Duke Of Prunes kit from 69 B.C.E.
  18. All Chrysler small blocks (318-A, 273-318-340-360) and big blocks (350-361-383-400; 413-426-W,440) have the starter on the left (driver's) side of the engine. PCV and 'Accessory Crankcase Breather' (simply 'breather') switched sides on the rocker covers for 1970-1978. with the breather now on the right (passenger) side, and PCV valve on the left (driver) side. I mention this little detail only for stock applications (including engine swaps), so that you may select the correct year if that level of accuracy is of importance to you.
  19. After many years of me seeing Tamiya Liquid Primer and wondering, What the heck is that stuff?, I finally bought a bottle of it. Naturally, I couldn't read the directions on the label until I got home and installed me Dollar Store '+1.75' reading glasses. First thing I'd noticed was that there's no brush attached to the inside of the lid. Oh, well... I just grabbed one of the countless "stop sticks" (one of those green plastic things from Starbucks), mixed the contents, and used the aforementioned stick to smooth a thin layer of the liquid primer over the puttied-over (Tamiya White Putty) sink marque on the trans oil pan of the TH-400 on the 396 in the AMT '68 El Camino. I'm yet to be dissatisfied with any Tamiya product -- I hope that this stuff delivers the goods.
  20. OUTSTANDING!! Tasteful mods, too, which your replica capture perfectly! Looks like GB7 Evening Blue Metallic -- my favourite shade of the two 'B7' formulas.
  21. Nice Nova L-79 ! I really like its sedate-other-than-colour appearance, and I really dig on that silver engine compartment. Keep up the great work !
  22. I'm going to keep that 330 / 4-speed and its air cleaner for use in the 1965 Chevelle Wagon (M/P special) . Should I change me mind or elect to use a different air cleaner, I'll give you first dibs.
  23. To say that the engine compartment of the '64 F-85 / 4-4-2 is lacking would be quite the understatement. I built my hardtop copy -- the one with the aforementioned engine / 4-speed / dual snorkel air cleaner -- as a curbside as I felt that the engine compartment 'required' too much work for my arthritic hands and finger to fool with in order to make it presentable.
  24. Ever since I watched Beyond the Valley of the Dolls (1970) in high school (1986) , I never looked at Chevrolet's ads from 1969 the same again (hahaha). Same goes for 1970 Gran Coupe Barracuda (hahaha).
  25. Tamiya Mica Blue or Metallic Green are my recommendations for colour. Fireball for wheels & tyres.
