  1. Those AWS setups seem to rear their head every so often... and they always seem to disappear rather quickly. First one that I can recall seeing was a c.1988 Prelude with AWS. I'm sure there were a number of factory-built predecessors.
  2. Cool car. Awesome story. Motion Performance Survivor Story: Dave Ankenbauer’s 1972 Phase-III 454 ZL-X Corvette - Corvette Report
  3. I wish that I knew , that I had an answer here. I just chalked it up to that primer being a final, no sanding 'sealer' under the colour coats.
  4. The quite expensive 1971-1974 cassette player-recorder-microphone that was an option in the Charger, Super Bee, Demon (1971 only), Dart (1971 only), Satellite, Road Runner , GTX, Barracuda, Duster (1971 only) , and Valiant (1971 only).
  5. Did any of you ever see Doctor Tetrazzini perform? I say perform advisedly because his operations were performances. He would start by throwing a scalpel across the room into the patient and then make his entrance as a ballet dancer. His speed was incredible: "I don't give them time to die", he would say. Tumors put him in a frenzy of rage. "[ BLAH-BLAH-BLAH ] undisciplined cells!" he would snarl, advancing on the tumor like a knife-fighter.

  7. Holidays' traditions such as Mari Lwyd are among my favourite festivities (and part of me lineage)
  8. IIRC, those simulated mag wheel covers were manufactured by Kelsey-Hayes
  9. To break those caps loose, I run the bottle - cap-side-only - under hot running water. That usually does the trick. If they're extra testy , I'll smack the lid with the blunt side of pliers.
  10. Super nice RM23V0A you've built there ! That colour reminds me a factory colour , EA4 Silver Metallic - excellent choice ! The 1970 Hamtramck Registry - 1970 Paint Chip Charts Slideshow
  11. At the risk of my being redundant ; I really wish that Revell would include those under-chassis headers (rare in 1:1) and the 'Super Stock'-style springs in every issue of their (excellent) '68 Dart kits. (and, how's about a backdate to a '67 GT+S while we're "wishing" ? Heck, an update to a 1970 Swinger 340 , too !)
  12. Defence against Desoxyn-fuelled Hornets is futile
  13. Correct. That's the only engine the kit had (the '383' from the '69 , and the '440' from the Mr. Norm's GSS ), as the Hemi didn't come around until, when ? 2012 ?
  14. From memory : - Under-chassis headers - No vinyl top - Raised rear ( 'Super Stock' ) springs I wish that Revell would reissue the '68 Dart with those parts.

  17. Make a comfortable place for feral cats to keep warm during the cold months, and they'll still sleep in the box the bed was in
  18. Winners south da equator are summers north-a da equator
  19. It's like those free gravy boats that are in hospitals. One can typically find them at yard sales mixed in with other kitchen and dining items and wares.
  20. Ages ago (1995) I mated the Hemi from the Monogram '71 'Cuda to the Torqueflite from the '71 Satellite / GTX . I did that so that I could keep the kit's console, and, more importantly not have to add a Dana 60.
  21. Would the AMT Firestone pinstripe WW's work ? The ones in the Parts Pack ? They look skinny enough and have that tall sidewall...
  22. The sink marques you're referring to were corrected some +/- 8 years ago with that reissue ; see link to your Fotki site : Photo: DSC 0038 | First Look - AMT 1968 El Camino SS Derby Champions II album | Funman1712 | Fotki.com, photo and video sharing made easy.
  23. I wish that I'd mentioned this earlier in your build : Those quarter windows are not the only issue with the body-interior-chassis mating - the inside of the body, just below the doors' daylight openings ("DLO"), needs to be sanded/ filed down some. The first one of these AMT '71 Duster kits I'd built (jeez... 26 years ago !) drove me insane trying to mate the body-interior-chassis ! At the time I said to hell with it, removed the quarter windows, and attempted a mating again. Still wouldn't seat properly ! I put the whole shebang back inna box and relegated it to the storage area. I got back to it a few years later ; a friend of mine told me how he sanded / filed down the aforementioned offending "bump" under the DLO and how that solved the fitment issues. RE: The quarter windows' surrounding mounting provisions : eliminate them ( I've used side cutters after scribing around the windows, then sanded the area smooth). RE: The tyres : the Slant Six equipped Dusters had , IIRC, C-78-14 tyres from the factory (which translates to, what, 185-75-14 ?).
  24. The title in the subject line is the working title for my upcoming book of my (crummy, lowbrow) photography. The subjects are abandoned, "disused" items which were cast-asunder on both public land and , in some cases, private property (albeit, without breaching gates, fences, and the like). I conceived the entitlement from the ridiculous amount of refuse cans found in fast food establishments and places of employment ; public areas as well (depending upon city / county). These receptacles compel diners to dig-through their trash like a hobo in order to dispose the appropriate items into the assigned bins. Abject rubbish. So, the title of my work was born ! Comments, critiques, and ad hominem attacks encouraged.
