  1. Shane have you made any more progress on this one? David, I have a local store called Magic Mart. It's like Walmart before they got big time. I can get these all day long for $16.00. Now on the west coast, I dunno. Evil bay or maybe see if your LHS can get them.
  2. Yeah 1/20 is a bit bigger but, that could be a good thing. If you are looking to score a set of wheels for that Hardbody kit, it should be easy to get a set of chrome or black and chrome wheels right off almost any Jada Dub City car/truck. BTW, are you converting it to RHD to make it a D21?
  3. I gots the popcorn. Can't wait for the show! The mere size makes them a beast to body drop. Since you were asking for advice earlier, I can start by telling you that, in body dropping, you will find that the dash and interior are not exactly 100% proportionate to each other. Also you may want to consider fabbing a 100% new interior tub floor. The bench seat looks ridiculous against the ceiling when mounted on the risers.
  4. The orange one was mine. I was just showing Shane a rough idea of what his could look like with paint to encourage him to keep motivated on this one. However, to answer the question, no thread.
  5. Yeah, it is a cool car and will make a great build. I hope you find it and do a WIP on here.
  6. IIRC My Revell 68 Firebird went together pretty easily. It makes a pretty good shelf model as well. I've been eyeballing the Monogram (maybe Revell) 70 Roadrunner kit. I want to build "The Hammer" from this kit. It looks pretty straight forward and I've been told the parts count isn't that high.
  7. My best advice is to buy something that you feel comfortable in. It's ok to go to the car lot JUST to test drive cars. You can always tell the sales person no thank you. And local individuals with used vehicles are always easy to meet up with for a quick test drive. Drive different types and brands until you get a general feel of what you want. Just make sure that, whatever you get, look it over. Look for spliced, hanging or damaged wiring, structural damage, fluid leaks, and check all the buttons to make sure they work.
  8. Watched it, hated it. It took until the last minute or so of the video for the car to do anything cool on its own. There are some shots where the car was driving and it was questionable whether there was a driver...maybe that would be clearer on a tv screen instead of a little monitor. What would have been more interesting would have been if it had shown both of them sitting in the back when the guy was cornered in the alley. That way the car would have a bit of its own rage just like the Fury in the movie. On Youtube, I read that the video was loosely inspired by the book, Christine.

  10. Wow! Model cars actually literally ripping up the blacktop! That was so hilarious!
  11. As far as downshifting to slow down, sometimes I downshift a standard to fourth when going down a steep mountain. You never know when your foot is going to slip or something out of left field is going to happen. Our Malibu is autostick so I downshift it from sixth to fifth or fourth. I know that there is usually not a reason to downshift an auto/autostick but, if you have ever seen the tiny brakes they put on new Malibus, you would understand. They've been checked by several shops and they slip more than the average car with a six or eight inch brake pad. When it comes to changing clutches, I have had five standard vehicles and changed them as follows: 87 S10 at approx. 100,000 91 S10 didn't own it long enough 98 S10 never changed yet but it only has 60,000 on it 94 Camaro changed to Centerforce stage 3 @ 80,000 and never had another problem (drove that car hard) 04 Cavalier at least 125,000 with now broken odometer and clutch never changed (I drive it responsibly.)
  12. I'm a big fan of the look of Rustoleum Italian Olive. IIRC it is satin though. But yeah, the military green look is always cool.
  13. I kinda get the impression it is all scratch built. The work also gives me the impression that this is the result of years of hard work and dedication.
  14. OK, since no one else called it...yellow slug bug, no slug back! I introduced my 8 year old girl to it when she was 6 and we play all the time...although we don't actually slug one another. In relation BK to taking his grandson to the dealership and calling them all, we have a rule in our household. There are three or four owned by parents at my daughter's school. We do not call those because they are going to be there all the time.
  15. My Hobby Lobbys and Michael's don't have a clearance rack. They just put the overstocked ones in random parts of the store.
  16. Looking great so far...But just to let you know, the admins will most likely move your post to 'pickups and light utility on the work bench'. So, if it disappears, that's where it will be. And that's where I'll be following the build as well. BTW, I'd love to have that 80s body Chevy!
  17. Then where do I get a kit of their ship so I can build it and then smash it to bits?
  18. I had a large box, once, that contained the following models I had opened but, not built: Revell Tuner Ford Focus Revell Tuner 93 Honda Civic Revell Lowrider Chevy Citation Revell Lowrider Mercury Cougar XR-7 AMT Fast and Furious Mitsubishi Eclipse AMT Fast and Furious Toyota Supra No one knows what happened to that box to this day. But I went to my parents' house the other day and found an open Dale Earnhardt Goodwrench Monte Carlo, with some of my other models in my old closet, that I do not recall ever buying.
  19. Lookin good so far. I love seeing people lay these out because they start sooo far away from such intentions. I know that side trim takes a long time to get off there without ghosting. Nice job! Here is mine while I was working on the decals last year...until it got stepped on. I still have the body dropped interior and some other parts so, I'll be watching your thread before building a replacement.
  20. I just don't get how anyone could get that Chevy stole the Camaro taillights for the Corvette. I mean, is it just me or has the Vette had two taillights on each side for who knows how long. Before the current square taillights, when did a Camaro ever have square headlights. And when was the last time it had two taillights on each side? The early 70s? And another thing...despite being sort of kind of square if you are really in an altered state of mind, these look nothing like Camaro lights aside from red lenses and chromed innner housings like almost every other stock taillight to come out of GM. I think the rear of the car does look a little funny but, over all, I like it. I saw the Ferrari and Viper comparison photos. Isn't it about time Chevy stepped up and started making something over the edge like its competition? Yeah, all brands look the same anymore and stylistically, maybe that's a problem. But the Corvette is starting to look just as luxurious and monsterous as the cars it has been competing with (and aparently beating at Laguna Seca). http://www.autoblog.com/2012/12/17/2013-chevrolet-corvette-zr1-sets-lap-record-at-laguna-seca-beat/
  21. Yeah, but the school bus driver always had his/her little clip on fan. Guess they figured the kids would just stick their heads out the little slide down window like a dog.
  22. I saw one of these the other day. I wander how it would stack up with the Intimidator SS from the last generation Camaro.
  23. Dang Tim. I dunno man. You got me with that one.
  24. It's what happens when you try to type "mobile" on any iphone or ipod before the 5. And Tom...yeah don't hit that. It just messes everything up. If you're on your Apple device or whatever (I assume you are because my iphone does that) just scroll down to the bottom and hit Full Version like Casey said. I have to just about every time I open Safari to go to the site.
