  1. Really nice! I am a fan of those hard plastic AMT slicks. Wish I had a stash of them
  2. The green glass in the Charger is supposed to be Coke-bottle green. Clever idea. I hope if anyone plans on actually building this issue that plain-ol' clear is included too. Do Coke collectors really buy anything with a coke sticker on it/included??
  3. Here is my write up on the AMT Trojan Horse that may help with your Blue Max project and here is a very nice build with the CR Mustang II body
  4. Google led me here http://www.resinrealm.net/Star/AardvarkModels/Aardvark.html Hopefully it is still active and not a "zombie" site.
  5. Looks nice! Fire extinguisher decals are a nice touch.
  6. I have abig stash and am trying to avoid adding to it. But it might be fun to build the 63 Chevy radical custom. I might top it off with some Coca Cola decals. (Just kidding about the decals).
  7. That came out nicely, esp the paint!
  8. Nice work! Is that display base included with the kit?
  9. Personally I enjoy building these old AMT kits now and then. I think the subject matter is interesting and you end up with a cool build.
  10. This looks really good. Great stance and glossy paint!! The modification to lower the rear ride height looks very good. Interestingly when I did my mockup for the Custom Body Dart the body sat a bit lower in the front. When I re-glued it all "for real" something changed and it sits a bit higher.
  11. I started this back in January and it is finally done! The Revell Duster body has the greenhouse to far forward to replicate a 1974 Dart FC, but instead of moving the greenhouse back which would have required new decals, I moved the engine forward a bit so it would stick out of the windshield like the real car. I also modified the grill to look like a Dart, and used a Slixx grill decal. I opened up the front wheel wells, added wheel bumps from the Revellution funny car and removed the ridge down the center of the hood that Dusters have. The model has Comp Resins front wheels and rear slicks from the MPC Kalitta FC. I used kit decals, which were in good shape for being 45 years old!!!! The kit decals didn't have anything for the decklid, and fortunately Tamiya Bright Red was a good match for the kit decals. Those decals also did not have the white stripe for the roof, trunk, or hood, so I used decal film. Chuck Boerner is going to offer these decals with all the white striped included, so they'd be much easier to use. Happy to get this on the shelf!!
  12. Looks really good!
  13. That looks great! Nice build and amazing gloss on the paint - what clear did you use? I thought I knew who Paul Smith was, and here is an article from 10 years ago or so http://www.competitionplus.com/featured-stories/2666-paul-smith-–-standing-the-test-of-time His son John still is in the sport, and his daughter-in-law is Rhonda Hartman-Smith, who drove TF.
  14. Just FWIW the AMT Gas Ronda funny car has a Logghe chassis. Is it just a long version of the short Vega, Pinto, etc.chassis?
  15. While it is hopefully the almost stock Vega Wagon FC we are getting, the chassis for this kit was recently released in the Trojan Horse FC. So they have that chassis ready to go and would only need to get this body mold working.
  16. I think it is cool too!!
  17. Its Revell tin. Short extensions on the sides as shown as I moved the engine forward to get it sticking out of the windshield a bit. I also got the body to sit lower, so had to modify the doghouse for the scoop. That required a new windshield with a bigger opening. It is boiling hot out - maybe I should do some gluing on this this PM. I’m calling the body “good to go.”
  18. This is a pretty sorry excuse for an update but this is coming along. Paint and decals were salvaged from the clear coat problem. This will never be a contest car, but it wasn’t intended to be anyway. If you ever decide to build one of these, Chuck Boerner is redoing the Revell decals. He will include the white hood, roof and trunk stripes which will make decaying MUCH easier. Here are pix of the engine, tires and some of the this car had cool anodized tin and this was my take on it with an airbrush.
  19. Regarding the 76 Vega FC: If they decided to rebrand the MPC Vega FC as AMT this could be it as it uses the same chassis as the Soapy Sales Dodge and Kaliita and Hot Rod Mustang FCs from a few years back (EDIT - upon further review, I am not sure I am right on that) On the other hand the below “late model” AMT Vega FC uses the same chassis as the Trojan Horse Mustang 2 they put out recently. That kit has numerous issues including no pedals or shifter! And this Vega body is a pretty wild interpretation of what a Vega Wagon FC would have looked like.
  20. Very nice paint! I just watched an episode of Chasing Classic Cars that featured the Villa Riv. I looked more into it and I am going to look on Netflix to see if they have the movie it appeared in available. I also think I will pick up the kit. Looking fwd to seeing yours done! BTW, assume you meant Hemi Orange and not Hemp Orange, but hemp is getting pretty popular these days!!!
  21. Round2 tooled the NASCAR COTs too. They came out several years after the PL acquisition. PL did tool the newer Ford GT, the GTO convertible, and maybe a few other snappers.
  22. They also tooled up the Batmobile and some NASCAR COT snappers. They look to have figured out their new tool ROI is better on sci fi stuff.
  23. So if I am reading that right, witha half off coupon you get 2 sets of great tires, plus a Camaro kit, for about the same price as a Parts Pack of tires!
