2022 Cannonball Group Build theme suggestion thread
Lunajammer replied to Fat Brian's topic in Community Builds
Oh boy, 1970 is a golden year for modeling. All the big 3 have multiple kits. But I came across a sort of blown GSX version of your inspired Camaro. -
Dare I say it’s adorable? Seriously that’s a nice chunk of work to bring it all together. BTW love the alternative thinking

This is fun. Color choice was a pleasant surprise.

Fantastic work Anton! Great push to the end and you didn't cut any corners.

Wonderful conversion and a beautiful model.
-
This is very attractive. All good choices.

You're too modest David. There's some daunting successes here. Continental kit practical? Of course not, but customizing has a long history of attention getting impracticality. Looks great and I love the optional hood positioning.

2022 Cannonball Group Build theme suggestion thread

It's the Cannonball Run. Cheat. ? Maybe technically you could take a 1996 Nascar chassis (there are plenty) and put on the body of your choice... essentially doing a build like this years theme. -
Handsome car. Not just the roof, but the tailgate too.

I knew little or nothing about this 1976 movie, but as a movie aficionado, I could already see this is a must see. Like any film touched by Roger Corman's shadow, some great budding talent is here in all their quirky first steps. Co-written by young Don Simpson, later producer of Top Gun, Days of Thunder, Beverly Hills Cop. I watched 15-minutes on YouTube before quitting so I could stream a good copy on my TV. This straight to drive-in flick is the lesser known cousin of the big name Hollywood cross country car chase movies featuring, pretty much nobody beyond David Carradine. But consider this cast of unknowns... an uncredited Sylvester Stallone cameo (pre-Rocky), Martin Scorsese (legendary director and film historian), Joe Dante (later director of The Howling, Gremlins and one segment of Twilight Zone: The Movie), Roger Corman, James Keach, Bill McKinney (Deliverance, Outlaw Josie Wales, First Blood, The Green Mile), Robert Carradine, Veronica Hamill (Hill Street Blues) and slews of other unknown faces with histories of TV guest spots. My favorite unknown is Garrit Graham (Phantom of the Paradise, Used Cars, lots of TV), whose delightfully creative, carefully executed comedy makes me laugh at anything he's in, when he chooses to do comedy. Otherwise, hey, cheesy dialogue, bad acting, paper thin plot, mid-70's TV production values and lots of Detroit eye candy and good old fashioned, real car crashes the way we used to see them. Pure popcorn.

Looks like a great start. Keep it going. -
FACEBOOK: I couldn't have said it better...

Wish my REAL neighbors DID socialized like they do on Facebook. I'd welcome hearing about what they did the night before, what they're doing later and with whom, what they had for dinner and talk about their dog and what's on their work bench... you know, like real life human beings. I enjoy beeping my horn and waving at them. It makes them squirm. -
210. Just wow. Buy it. Steal it.

Lots to love here. Excellent subject and craftsmanship.

Ugliest Corvette revisited
Lunajammer replied to Classicgas's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Oddities for sure, but anything different in the automotive world is good (except the chrome 2x4 bumpers on the white one, yeesh!). I say let it all hang out. ? -
Love this build and I enjoyed the WIP. Personally, I'd have liked to see brighter rims but that interior is absolutely top shelf! Well done all around and a great subject matter.

William Shatner to take off into space at 1000
Lunajammer replied to SfanGoch's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I watched it live and an hour before the thing even took flight, I was blown away to watch this fat pud at 90 march up flights of stairs eight or ten stories high to the gantry. I want what he's having! -

...And of those, SpaceX is the only one with an expressed mission to explore space, earn knowledge and advance the human race. The others, at least today, are just recreational tourism. -

My fiancee', as a teen, also bred mice for color and variety and sold them to the pet store. That fueled her interest in animals all the way through an animal science degree and a career in an animal nutrition lab.

This is quite a surprise. He was such an active member here for so long that I guess I didn't notice he hadn't posted for a while. This is depressing. RIP Rich.
