  1. Looks nice with the trailer. I like the air lines.
  2. Great looking Pete, Tom. Well done.
  3. From what I've been able to find out, the Cat 3406C, Cummins N14, or Detroit Diesel Series60 would be appropriate. The Detroit V8's & Caterpillar 3408 are too "old" for the Ford LTL9000. Stick with the 3406. I'm not familiar with the transmission that's in the kit, but the "standard" transmission was a 9-speed direct.
  4. This is the kit I have: It's the Model Shipways New York Pilot Boat Phantom. It's a solid hull kit, but I still cannot figure out how to proceed. My biggest fear is putting a ton of time into it, but having it only be worthy of kindling.
  5. Really fantastic work. I have a wooden ship kit in my stash, but I've been to intimidated to start it. Very well done.
  6. Oh, tail lights are SOOO over rated!
  7. Thanks for information. I have no idea what a PCD is, but I'll look it up.
  8. Interesting. I might need to look into this as I need something like these for a Ford F8.
  9. Looks good from my house. Well done.
  10. In the 2007 Transformers film, Optimus Prime was a Peterbilt 379. However, in the 2014 Transformers: Age of Extinction, he was a 1973 Marmon cab-over then either a Western Star 5700 Custom or Western Star 4900 Phantom Custom depending on the source.
  11. Very nice. I like it. Did you use the Model Car Garage P/E set?
  12. I'd say that's a job well done.
  13. Doesn't really surprise me as the trailers have been out for a while, and I don't think they were huge sellers. Good sellers, yes, but not huge. Moebius has been pretty quiet on the "Big Rig" front; so I wonder if their foray into Class 8 truck models is over.
  14. Try here: http://jbwid.com/scalcalc.htm Or here: http://www.scalemodelersworld.com/online-scale-converter-tool.html I found an app for my phone, but the link is corrupted now. My app still works though. It's from Scale Model Scenery.
  15. Sweet! Someone is building the Italeri H-21C here: http://aeroscale.kitmaker.net/modules.php?op=modload&name=SquawkBox&file=index&req=viewtopic&topic_id=258749&page=1
  16. Thanks, Roger. Hopefully I'll have some additional updates soon. Isn't the Hughes TH-55A (Schweizer 300) the same helicopter the Cousteau used on the R/V Calypso?
  17. That's a nice looking Euro tractor. Very well done. Nice clean build. Any plans for a Euro trailer to go behind it?
  18. That's really slick, Tom. I think it came out very well, and I like the colors.
  19. Check with Jerry over at Modeltruckin.com. He might have something. The problem with Caterpillar is they are VERY protective of their name & intellectual property. Their Legal Beagles make sure that if you want to use the CAT name, you pay or get a "Cease & Desist" order. They are almost as bad as Harley-Davidson. Good luck. Most aftermarket decal guys don't want to deal with the 800lb Yellow Gorilla.
  20. For Detroit Diesel Alpine Green from the 1970s I use Testors Model Masters Grun RLM 62, and for Series60 Blue I uses Tamiya Medium Blue XF-18. I find that the Dupli-Color Detroit Diesel Alpine Green is too dark for the older engines; but that's just me.
  21. Thanks. It has some issues: the fit isn't great, took for ever to get the white paint to cover, the boom is way out of scale, & the plastic is very soft. I'm really hoping to finish it up here soon.
