  1. And we’re getting the new Fisher Price mail truck too!
  2. Now wouldn't that be a hoot if this was a Revell Europe release with no USA distribution? ?
  3. I replaced the battery in our LaCrosse recently. Of course it went during the cold snap. And of course nobody was running any sales... Pep Boys and Autozone were out of the one I needed. Right across the road from Autozone is Advance Auto, who told me there was a warning in their catalog that my battery required “professional installation” and wouldn’t sell me one! I told the young clown that yes, you need to remove a metal bar and a few other things but I already had done the hard part and the core was in my car! So final stop was friggin Walmart, who not only had a battery with the same warranty as the others, but it was $50 cheaper.
  4. Appropriately named models
  5. They don't! It's television. One of the east coast model car dealers was on the show... he was the guy who had an old train station in Pennsylvania full of model trains. There is no way these guys could drive around, wasting gas and travel expenses to buy a few trinkets at each stop. In real life they'd just offer the seller a bulk number for everything! Since seller's goal is to empty the property. And they'd have to buy ten cents on the dollar to make any money!
  6. Yea, I'm not a fan of the diamond plate on this kit. That's the thing that's kept me from building it.
  7. I prefer using a flat black acrylic... thinned with water. You can lay it into the cracks with a tooth pick, let it set a little bit, then wipe off the excess with water either on a cloth, paper towel or Q-Tip. I prefer this because I don't want to run the risk of the thinner affecting my color coat of paint. Also, prior to painting your body, you may want to better define and deepen the panel lines. You can use the back edge of a new number 11 exacto blade. Just deepen it enough to hold the paint, you don't want to go all the way through! My 1950 Chevys!
  8. Absolutely! When you do something passive like watching TV, it doesn't occupy your full attention so you can float off into bad thoughts and not really get away from reality. This is very important especially with the current state of the world! When you work on a model, it takes your full concentration. You can work for an hour and not even realize time has gone by. I can put in some time, and my headache is gone and I'm feeling refreshed! You know everything is getting to you when the people in your dreams are wearing masks! ?
  9. What’s wrong with the world?! They’re probably still talking!?
  10. Don’t tempt me! I’m having issues getting the engine to sit right in the chassis and am near ready to hit the wall with it!
  11. No bikini! The little bumps on the roll bar are where the fog lamps go, so no top clipped to it!
  12. Great job! Model looks great in that classic color!
  13. post a photo of the seats and we all can brainstorm as to what kit seats would look appropriate. It can be a challenge. I've had issues getting seats to fit in a vintage pickup kit due to the width... plus the thicknesses of the cab and interior plastic. Where a seat would fit in 1:1, sometimes that doesn't translate into 1:25 scale!
  14. Your work is done! https://rmrmodels.com/collections/1920s-1940s/products/1941-chevy-panel-1-2-ton
  15. Here's a set of drill bits you can get at Hobby Lobby... Has the right sizes for wiring work.
  16. Hey Tom! Those colors just work well! Overall a great model, you have a good eye! Hope to see it in person one day!
  17. Cool, thanks. I have two of the buggies that I bought together in a box at a show once. I never had the full kit nor the trailer. Trailer looks nice.
  18. Which is why the site now hosts images! My early posts linked to my photo albums on Fotki, which is still active and paid for. Still, as they’ve moved stuff between servers and such over the years, images come up as not found.
  19. I’d be up for one! I do have the Olson Brothers half cab, and a couple of the buggies but I’ve been into trailers lately.. any idea where it came from or if it’s new? And it’s a very good sign that Revell is doing new kits!
