  1. A bit more playing today...
  2. Mother’s worst nightmare
  3. Between yesterday and today.. 66 Valiant Speedster. Just for fun.
  4. My Jeepster long hardtop resin piece arrived! It’s one piece and very nicely molded. Chris said the mold is shot, but he was able to coax one more part out of it for me! Here it is just sitting, raw resin as received, on my Jeepster!
  5. I think a lot of you have gone off on charitable tangents without reading the original post. Boxes of parts and started kits.. you know what that looks like. Most charities would take one look and toss it all in the trash. Now if these were all sealed kits, yea donate them to charities for kids, active military and vets. Honestly, outside of our small society, these just are boxes of junk.
  6. Pins can be funny.. if too tight, take your exacto blade and twirl it in the hole, carefully.. one twist, check for fit. Repeat as necessarily until you get it in. If too loose, glue it in place from behind
  7. Cool! I like it!
  8. That’s 1/16 scale.. the model we are talking about is the only one in 1/24 or 1/25 with the full soft top.. the original Herbie and some of the subsequent releases have an open one, with wrong era body.
  9. Sorry Tom, I had this vision for a quick project! I glued the two parts together and filled in some gaps with scrap Evergreen plastic. Once that all dried solid, I applied some putty... Let that dry overnight. Been busy today, may do a bit of sanding tonight. I have a vision of making this a 66 Valiant instead of using the Hemi Under Glass Barracuda grille. I do have a pair of resin 66 Valiants, guess I could borrow one.. will check with caster to see if he can hook me up..
  10. Very cool! I have a soft spot for Celicas. We owned a 1995 GT convertible. I’d love to have another one of those!
  11. Someone above said Facebook Marketplace.. A while back my sister asked me what my nephew should do with the model cars he acquired back when he was in his early teens and I got him momentarily interested in models. He just turned 30. She sent me photos of the stacks.. about 25 kits and asked my assessment... I told her he should put them on Marketplace— local pickup only— for $250. But to be prepared to accept $200. He got several calls.. first guy said he’d take them, then turned around and offered $50 in person. Sent him packing! Second buyer came and paid the full $250. My nephew bought a 43” TV.
  12. Those were the days! Running around town to see what each of the many stores that sold models had on the shelf! And seeing models we never saw before, so exciting! We are too hobby smart today.. no more wonderful discoveries, we know it all! Kinda takes the fun out of it!
  13. Rick, is the soft top in the Coke version of the kit? That's my favorite part in the whole kit!
  14. Nice job Charlie! And it was fun building with ya in the Zoom room! The important part is that you participated and brought the project to completion! You know my passion for that generation Caravan! Per the fiddly parts, things like wipers I drill and pin. And all the lights on the Caravans, I sanded the pins off backs, BMFed the backs and white glued in place. That way I didn’t have to deal with that press fit nor see the peg on the finished van
  15. Check to see if there will be any swap meets this year. If so, take a table and price it all to go! That way it stays in the hobby, rather than trashed. If you have old Monogram Model A kits, projects and parts.. send me a message!
  16. Last time I checked my local Michael’s it had that much shelf space, with half the kits! Heck I have more kits on my unfinished project shelves over my workbench! And the fact they call them “Children’s Crafts”. I don’t know anything current, but last I read Michael’s was bankrupt and circling the bowl. So bad that someone in their distribution center said they were moving goods by hand because they couldn’t afford to replace dead batteries in the fork lifts!
  17. Just playing unsupervised in the parts box and had an evil epiphany.. Take one old Hemi Under Glass with a broken roof and size it up next to the Fireball 500... A bit more gnawing on plastic and some sanding.. this might just be fun.
  18. Nope! Windshield isn’t covered. My broker says I have collision but not comprehensive?? I don’t get that. When I bought the car I asked for full coverage.
  19. They did. I bought a 58 during that final sale
