Since Tim just mentioned this kit and Lee posted his stock coupe in response, I’m responding to Lee with my sedan. As I mentioned in Tim’s thread I got all the way to paint before someone pointed out that the roof was too square on this kit. So I took the body and sanded the edge down on the roof sides a bit. I don’t know how well I did, but I had a lot of time into this one so I was gonna finish it! If the body looks low it’s because the body is sectioned, the roof is not chopped.

I knew where I had these pix! The big issue to my eyes are that the windows are too small. Mine is missing a headlight and grille -

Stamp collecting may not be growing but is still a thousand times larger than model cars. In fact one stamp company mails out a monthly magazine for free that puts any model car magazine to shame. -

Here’s the sheets for the Mattel Vacuform and the source I got mine from. Can’t tell you if he’s still in business. -
Nice build! Funny that Tim Boyd started a thread about the same kit

Oh yea! Perfect! ? -
Yup! As long as I got my $5-10 worth of parts! I have a bunch of parts kits (not NASCAR) and people on the boards will be looking for something I have, and I’m always happy to contribute it to their project! Or combine a couple of them in a bag and put up an eBay auction.. maybe in the slot car category! Ya never know who will buy what!

Great model and thanks for filling in the details. A while back I built a 34 sedan and posted my progress on the boards. I got all the way to having the body painted when someone finally spoke up about the shortcomings of the roof shape. I had no clue! So I did take a step back and sanded the roof a bit. I’m not sure how well I did but I tried and I do like my model!

Cool duos! I don’t have a single boat built! Maybe that should change! FYI- aside from boats from our standard model companies, Dumas makes some interesting boats in 1/24 scale. -
Fat taxi cab? ?

Yea, I’m seeing trucks of all colors delivering in the neighborhood on Sundays. Would be nice if there was one day a week without hearing trucks all day! The Amazon deliveries are very uncoordinated. My daughter is a big Amazon Prime person and when we are at her house different deliveries will arrive all day long. They don’t have any coordinated routes or daily deliveries like the regular carriers.

Nope! Decals break up coming off. Best you can do is photograph it, then make a new one on your inkjet printer. That will only work with basic color inks, on chrome, gold or white.. and inkjet decals are opaque and only look right over light color paint. Better to post on the boards to ask if anyone has spares of decals you seek.

Cool! Glad to see a use for those NASCAR kits! They are no sells at shows even at $5 and $10 each so it’s good to see one gone!

Mattel VacuForm guidance?

I bought a used Mattel unit on eBay for something like $50 years ago. There is a company that makes the perforated sheets used in that unit. I find it only useful for clear windshields. -

It’s amazing the stuff out there, and that we all want to build the set of garbage pails! I’d buy them too!
