That’s the way it’s been in other countries.. not so much for pollution but to keep their auto industries cranking out new vehicles. I remember back when I was in Germany, insurance got costly on cars over a certain age. Americans servicemen were scooping up nice Mercedes to bring home to USA Japan also had legislation against cars over five years old. That caused havoc on other right hand drive countries where Japanese tried to dump clean used cars on their markets. Once that dried up, Japan was cutting up these cars and exporting parts. Friends in Australia told me of front clips being imported that include low mile engine / transaxle combos with odometer still attached. It could happen here!

Atlantis Models has bought another lot of tooling/molds.....

The Johan tools that are out there are the ones Okey got with his purchase of the parts hoard. He put out a brochure of kits that would be coming, so he must’ve had those tools. Casey posted the brochure here once.. The stuff he did manage to produce was the 59 Rambler wagon with three full decal sheets that were very well done. (This is one Moebius had since Model King announced he was doing it) He also did the snap version of the Chrysler Turbine car. His version of the Plymouth police car.. there were opinions both ways that he repopped the kit or that he assembled those from the parts hoard. There was rumor he was ready to do the 59 Dodge, but it never came about. I’m also assuming the AMX and Scrambler tools are intact since they were last done by Seville for Testors. The stillborn IMC had talked about the 75? Olds. Okey’s brochure listed ratrod versions of the 1930s Mercedes and Caddy so assume some version of those exist. Others will know more... -
I own this old original 1962 convertible with up top. Just the way I bought it, this was the second or third paint job on it since there are colors under the burgundy. The builder did take off the chrome strip along the top of fenders and doors. I didn’t even notice until I got the repop hardtop kit.

Spinning my wheels! Working on the Jeepsters.. wanted to fit the exhaust systems to engine and chassis. Especially the four cylinder one that doesn’t belong in that chassis. Thought I was going to put some weathering chalks on the manifolds... cannot find the V6 ones.. I thought I had readied them.. so I found a pair in the box and I drilled and pinned three pins per side.. then waited for that to dry.. then sprayed them flat black.. Then I pushed my side desk on wheels away from the bench.. there are the manifolds on the floor! Argh, weathered them all.. put the spare pair in a little clear bag back in the box for next engine.. Argh!

That Johan tooling Moebius considered.. still being shopped around? That’s my prediction. -
My three granddaughters are here today and we planned on spending the day in the pool... but it rained all day!

The older kits were low to no detail underneath. This is my Dodge Ramcharger that was pretty bad under. All that was there was the underside of the interior bucket with voids all around. I made the full underside from Evergreen sheet. I didn’t add much detail but still a big improvement over what the kit provided.

Or maybe babies?

These have been around forever and a lot of them have been broken up to use the wrecker bed on models which works well since that part is plastic. The originals had stock wheels and tires, later ones had goofy wheels. It’s good to see they are back to the stock wheels. Here’s the pair I bought. Photo is dated 2003.

My first camera was a Sony Mavica FD85. I paid some $800 for it and soon earned that back selling things on eBay with the photos. This one used the floppy disks which I thought was brilliant at the time. At high density about 25 pictures per disk, so I always had a pocket full at model shows. I eventually bought a newer model Mavica with a memory stick. I thought these cameras were brilliant and bought them for the engineering department at work. Today I just use the camera in my iPhone.

A good start! I like the careful sectioning.

Slight amount of work when I snuck into the model room today. I drilled and added pins to both Jeepsters manifolds. Two on the V6 and one on the 4. Sprayed them all flat black.. next step is to rust em and glue them to the motors. Not much getting done this week. My daughter and the grandkids are here.
