  1. Cool! I have a 2006 PT Turbo GT convertible in red! I have a couple of this kit set aside to build my car. What’s holding me up? The car was changed a bit for 06. The headlights and bumpers are different. Wheels are different and the interior is completely new.. both upholstery patterns and dashboard shape.
  2. Remember guys, that the often missing parts from tooling are the tires, clear glass and chrome shots, because those are separate molds. Let's hope that Atlantis got all the tire molds or they would be scrambling to create / fit tires to the kits.
  3. Very cool! My first thought when seeing the '67 was that someone would create a 68 or 69 4 door from that body! I need a 69 sedan to replicate a car my buddy once owned during an important summer when I got out of high school!
  4. Can anyone ID this clear shot? Two views of same part. Has number 009-0696. Or if it’s upside down 9690-600. I found it in a Hemi Under Glass parts box and it’s obviously not from that kit! Thanks!
  5. Per the windows.. we found that black Sharpie would show purple on clear plastic. I tape off mine and give them a shot of Testors Flat Black on the inside.
  6. This is how it happens... At the bottom of a thread page there are enticing links.. some are ads, others are to board threads, I don’t know the criteria of how the board software selects then. The link below to “Ford F-1 by Revell”, is a 2012 thread.
  7. I saw the above bit on Facebook and thought I saw my Jeep!
  8. Got my Valiant decals printed and on the car. Speedster is coming along. Did more work but nothing photogenic!
  9. Classic! An ancient thread defending ancient threads! Gotta Love It! ?
  10. Very Very Cool! I read every word! Probably the nicest rendition I've seen!
  11. Some progress! Doesn’t look like much.. but I spent a considerable amount of time redrawing the script. All examples I found would become unreadable when reduced down to the size I needed. I did them in black to contrast with the silver paint. I had painted my first car, a 66 Valiant, a similar silver and gave the emblems a black treatment so it’s like coming home! I’m working on final details but nothing worth a photo!
  12. I always tell folks to do themselves a favor and buy the Pace spray booth. Low end one is about $250 delivered. It’s not worth messing around to have some rigged up contraption blow up and hurt you or burn down your house. Money spent on the right tools is money well spent. Good tools will last a lifetime.
  13. I think I’ll just get a real one for a buck!
  14. When I was 15 I bought a lawn tractor with a clutch for my lawn mowing business. All summer I was on it daily so I got my basics there. In NJ we got our permit / license at 17. When I was 16 a friend of mine was 17 and had a 1962 Chevy II. My other friend of this trio was also 16 and we’d take turns driving around the suburbs. As a car guy I wanted to get my permit ASAP. My grandfather wanted to teach me to drive, so he took me to DMV on my birthday in his big LTD. I wanted to drive it home! He said no! We got back to the house and switched to my family’s 1966 Valiant. My grandfather wanted to show me the basics, but I got in it and well, drove! He was amazed! It was a miracle! He had no idea I had been driving that Chevy II around all year!
  15. That is way cool!
  16. Hey I got a new car! Barn find.. actually I was doing yard cleanup and saw something red in the dirt.. it was the top of the roof. Car was underground for who knows how long. I’ve owned the house 11 years with no kids here!
  17. Busy weekend aside from model cars.. did take some time out to create some decals for the Valiant Speedster. Printed and clear coated. Probably put them onto the body tomorrow.
  18. Amen! My grandfather once told me the story of their honeymoon. This was 1932 and the car was a 1931 Chevy roadster. The trip was from Jersey City, NJ to Atlantic City. The trip took 8 hours and he felt fortunate that he only had two flat tires! Back in those days, it was all slow going on local roads through every town and city, a lot of it unpaved. Today? A 3 hour ride at 80mph on the Garden State Parkway, no flat tires!
  19. Welcome Doug, I always enjoyed your Alaskan posts! I've seen you on Facebook recently, welcome to the board!
  20. Thank you Dave!
