  1. Yeah, my '47 sat pretty well level at the rockers, as best I recall. The stance on your model doesn't detract at all, though, it has a believable appearance; quite realistic! Mattias, I never even considered any hop-ups for my six, I'd never heard about that particular weakness! I learn on this forum continually.
  2. As clean a build of that kit as anyone could want. Beautiful work.
  3. Great job on this, BTW! Very clean, but I still prefer the 57 Desoto!?
  4. Chrysler used their flat head six longer than anyone because it was a simple and dependable engine. I can attest; in the late 80s I owned a 1947 Plymouth Special Deluxe 2 door coupe with a flat head six, and that car ran quiet, idled smooth, and started in cold weather as good as any car I've owned since. Surprised everyone who opened the hood!
  5. Loved seeing this one come together. One of my favorites, real and scale!
  6. I think I would just restore my best wheel, put my best tire on it, and make a silicone mold and cast the entire wheel/tire assembly in resin. Use the black dye to get a nice black resin, and cast plenty; you won't even need to paint the "tire", just mask and paint the wheel your chosen finish. Black resin does a very nice job of mimicking new rubber. Good luck!
  7. That's a good looking kit when finished, one of Monogram's best IMHO, but it will test your patience. I seem to remember having to fiddle quite a bit getting the wheels centered in their respective openings, both front and rear, and needing to adjust ride height as well.
  8. From the packaging, it appears the same place you got those has a 1/25 option. That may be only the tires, though.
  9. Yeah, I have already been properly beeyotch-slapped by Nazz for that brainfart.
  10. Need to find one!
  11. +1 on your color choices! I was immediately struck with an idea while ogling the pics of the empty body; that could pretty easily be built into a mid-engine custom by reversing the engine and cockpit positions!
  12. If I had a nickel for every time I said that...
  13. Go to the site I linked above, choose your vehicle as: 2003, then Chrysler, then PT Cruiser. Scroll down to Tangerine Pearl (code VE/AVE). They have it, it's a weirdly organized site. The first time, I just typed Tangerine Pearl into the search box at the top of the page.
  14. What a neat little 'bird! Looks nicely proportioned in the pics. Who makes this? Revell?
  15. Ha! Good catch; now I'm embarrassed to lump Barris in with a talent like DJ! Thanks Nazz!
  16. Never been a model kitted that couldn't be fixed like that! For that reason, I always thought Pyro had the most fitting and deserving name for a model company.
  17. Very realistic finishing! Looking forward to more...
  18. I remember mixing the little bottles of Testors Jade green and green to paint Aurora's Creature From The Black Lagoon! ( circa 1973) Loves me some Jade Green.
  19. Check out the "All The Rest" forum here, a fellow posted an Airstream resin kit, painted with Krylon Foil over a gloss black base. VERY shiny; now I want some for a ww2 mustang or two!
  20. In the video, the front end looks much more "pinched " in the frontal view, as if the grille inserts need to be sectioned a bit. Any info on how Barris did this? I seem to recall reading that the grilles were stock, but they look tapered and sectioned to me. Any way, I love watching your builds, and this one is no different for that! Another point; does anyone make correct gold foil decals for the doors? The real ones are much cooler than AMT's "interpretations".
  21. Just beautiful craftsmanship; top notch work!
  22. Sweet looking rod! Chassis is looking good. Sticking with white for the color of the Nomad?
  23. I've done this before, using a single edge razor blade, and finishing with a coarse file to fine-tune. REALLY helps on those old Monogram 1/24 kit tires. There's also something oddly satisfying when you set the model down; it just feels more..sturdy? stable?
  24. Looks like AMT should have just done the tail piece as one big chromed piece, and let us flow red between the ribs in the tail lamp area. That would be a nice one for a talented 3D printer to take on! Snake, if you get those original headlight assemblies cast, you can put me down for a couple; I think they'd move quickly.
