  1. Nice job, I see they are releasing a 1/1000 version in the coming months. I like the look of it, and you did a bang-up job on this little feller!
  2. Very neat detail!
  3. http://www.mcwautomotivefinishes.com/paint/misc.html Scroll down until you see:
  4. Pretty cool. Who made that body? The swoop ( or lack of) of the front of the C-pillar makes me think maybe this was mastered from a 4-door body. Any insights on the source? I like the sport coupes a lot, and would like to have a few more. You did a nice job on this one!
  5. That is a really cool custom! Great idea, and you are right on that GM couldda and shouldda.
  6. Beautiful lines on this bike; I dig it!
  7. What a friend you have there! Fun reviews, and while I was there I cast my vote. (It's ALL about the ugly...)
  8. Nice job, love that body color! Now I see where you put that engine you accidentally messaged pictures of to me!?
  9. Hey, thanks for that info! I am really liking the look of this, even though it's not my normal cup of tea, and I may yet have to add one to the stash.
  10. Looks really nice out of the box, but how is the fit and finish of these kits? I'm not familiar with this manufacturer.
  11. Perfect color choices! Nicely done.
  12. Oh heck yeah, since you you have the tools and knowledge, why not personalize your ride with some custom emblems? More power to you!
  13. Yeah, there's a lesson there...kit instructions/guides are notoriously suspect when it comes to color recommendations! Transmissions are generally flat cast aluminum, while we're at it! I only bring these issues up because your build otherwise is showing real sensitivity to detail. Keep it up!
  14. Really clean job so far! If you're going for a stock appearance, paint that distributor cap satin black.
  15. Where did you get that carb?
  16. I especially like the swoop of the C-pillar, it looks nicer on the Elky than the coupe!
  17. Being a custom, the drip rails are probably intentionally shaved.
  18. Have to echo some of what's been said here just to drive home the point; a Badger 200 or Paasche H is not just the perfect beginner airbrush, but are airbrushes you will continue to fall back on even if you decide to "upgrade" later. They are solid, serious working tools, and you can feel it when you pick one up. They are versatile, and highly adjustable, so don't be put off by the "single action" aspect, for model cars they can amaze. Which to buy? Buy the one that's on sale. I'd rather have either and a cheap air tank than a cheap brush/compressor combo any day. Here's one: https://spraygunner.com/single-action-airbrush-set-badger-200-20-detail/ and... https://www.midwestairbrush.com/pahsiacaihos.html
  19. Nice work; what year is your 'vette?
  20. VERY nice work here, and a cool project!
  21. When I was just a kid, the "gotta have it" reaction to box art was set off by Monogram's "Badman", first and foremost. Bold yellow 55, red tinted glass and scoop, strong black graphic slashing over the fender; what's NOT to love?! The "Quicksilver" '60 Chevy delivery wagon was a close second, followed by the "Paddy Wagon". Hmmm, Tom Daniels fan, I reckon! Dave Deal's stuff was irresistible as well. Don't get me started on Aurora kits; they made me want everything; aircraft, dinosaurs, and especially movie monsters! Some modern art ticks all the right boxes, too, with Moebius' "56 Chrysler 300 being an outstanding example. Love it... This Alfa Romeo kit box is nicely rendered, too...
  22. Nice job again! You have a feel for the 50s! A technical question, are you shooting your pictures under fluorescent lights, or maybe "daylight" bulbs? There seems to be a strong blue-green cast to your pictures. Compare to the last photo to this one I did a quick correction to in PaintShopPro:
  23. Cool project, and love the real car as well!
  24. You really captured the look! Nice work.
