1/24 or 1/25 '66 Hasegawa Bonneville?
Repstock replied to hedotwo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The body is OK, but the interior is a generic fantasy. Same for the chassis. -

I got two of those on eBay years ago. Both were Buy it now...one was $25.00, the other was $50.00. I found a mint unbuilt 1/32 International cabover at a show for $40.00. Of course these cases are by far the exception.

I got the top all polished out. I figured since I used the buildings for the reflection in the top, I might as well show what they look like. They have become kind of a catch-all. Because the top is layers of epoxy putty, primer, and paint (over plastic, of course), I'm not going to scribe it for fear of chunks breaking off. I have received another interior to do, so again, I have to stop working on this for a few weeks. -
I use Tamiya flat black and do any clean-up work with a cotton swab dampened with Windex.

If I understand your question correctly, the window frames on the side windows are part of the wagon kit.

Biggest pet peeves on builds.

I wonder where they are. The shops I'm aware of all serve R/C guys with models and paints tucked in a corner, or serve railroad guys with no models cars at all. If you want to buy paint, they're OK, but if you do any serious scratch building, they are near useless. Hobbyland was my go-to until the revamp, now they have just the basics. I'm tired of driving all the way out there just to find they don't have what I'm after, anyway. I hate paying shipping costs, but at least online I can get what I wan't. I didn't abandon the local hobby shop...they abandoned me.

I am now free of obligations, so there is further progress on the bus. It's got a front end now! Thanks to hct728(Bob) for giving me some ideas on how to approach the front end details. The bus is 19" long, about the size of a 1/25 40' trailer. -
A NEW PROJECT FOR 2020
Repstock replied to Chariots of Fire's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Nice to know there's another "roller" out there! I'll be watching, just like I've watched your previous builds. -
First of all, I love the color combo on the original truck. This is a cool project. I don't know if you want to go to the effort, but as nice as the body is on that model, it gives you the wrong front inner wheel wells. Here's a '69 C-10 engine compartment (pic). The truck is going to look great regardless, just thought I'd point it out.

That looks cool. I might pick one of those up (when they're available). -
'72 Dodge short box
Repstock replied to restoman's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Very nice truck! To those who it may interest: If you use the older grilles, the hood should have DODGE letters on it. The older releases have this. This in no way diminishes this build, it is just a detail that may interest some. I really like the truck, by the way! -
Be aware, the grilles are 3D printed masters, and the holes for the grille will have to be massaged for the grille to fit. When I made the front end, there were no 3D parts available yet , and that ring you see in the grille openings was actually meant to be part of the grille. It will need removed. You are right, the grille shown is for a '72, but a '71 is going to be available at some point. Also be aware the 1972 GTO donor kit has the wrong door panels. They look more like they're for a '70 or something. Also be aware that Kevin sells a corrected rear bumper that's not too wide for the car. Also be aware, I seem to use "be aware" too much.

If only it was 1/25... -
I had an '05 Element, too. I had the same experience as you. Got rid of it for a 2019 Rav4.
