I agree with the '40 being one of the better Ford designs from the past. The classic black paint with the red wheels and interior appointments looks great.

The build subject is a really interesting vehicle and was also a very fast Rally Car at one time. The color and finish on this build may very well look better than the real car. The ride height looks something like its stance when driven on a gravel stage. On the tarmac it would sit a little lower. The body trim is all cleanly done and the wheel colors look just like the real car.

The diorama almost overpowers the model, and that's saying something when you look at the model.

I agree with you and Zippi on this color. The finish is nice and smooth as well. The original 1:1 had a contrasting color around the side windows and the rear window with slim chrome trim dividing the two colors. Don't know if that is even a consideration as to your vision for this.

On this subject. Yesterday I got a text from the guy who bought our old house a couple of years ago. He said he received in the mail a credit card from a bank he didn't deal with but had my EMail address with his name and our old address on the envelope. We agreed to destroy the card.

Interesting theory. I was under the impression that they just kept raising the prices until people stopped buying their models unless the 40 % off price was just below the MSRP.

While always being a fan of the subject of these kits, the body proportions have also been a big disappointment.

Looks like you're ready to go on the Power Tour with this rig. The engine looks like it belongs and is nicely detailed. Like the way the interior looks. The color and the stock looking hub caps make it disappear in traffic.
