  1. You captured the paint finish of the real car perfectly. Someone at some time must have painted it with a paint brush. Like how you did the seat covers, have to remember that one. The added debris inside looks good.
  2. The original paint job looked so good, almost hate to see it weathered.
  3. Like your direction on this. Being a Gasser, you would be allowed to move weight around a little. With that in mind your diamond plate rear flooring would fit right in since it would weigh more than the stock sheet metal and put weight over the rear for better traction.
  4. Great looking engine details.
  5. Glad to see this build back online.
  6. Body is looking much better now. Suggestion if you haven't already. Lightly scribe the door jams and such to get any remaining paint build up so those details aren't lost when you paint the body. That also goes for the body lines on the roof as well.
  7. Don't even remember this kit. A lot of build possibilities with the unique interior and all the extra small parts.
  8. Nice to see one of these getting some attention. As for the kit, remember this was a tool created almost 40 years ago and was sort of the way kits were done at the time. The real car was sort of peppy with the optional 2.8-liter V6 and manual transmission. A common engine swap at one time was to put a Cadillac "North Star" engine that was a V-8 duel overhead cam engine. Look forward to seeing what all you do with your build and the color you chose looks great.
  9. While not the type of paint design you would expect on a Porsche, I still think it looks great. Based on the mural under the front trunk lid I suspect there may be a "Low Ridder" style influence in the design. Always like the intricate designs and use of colors.
  10. The primer style finish on 1:1 cars seems to have come and gone and returned over time. I think Gary's suggestion of using JD Blitz Black may be the most durable over time, but for many of us it was a financial decision based on the availability of funds. I remember a couple of personal vehicles that were done in the driveway with good old Krylon paint and some adult beverages. As for the modeling world, a resent build to replicate a car from the late '50's and early '60's using Tamiya TS-66 IJN Gray. This gave me the color and finish I wanted for this build but suggest sealing it with a flat clear more to protect the paint than to change the shade of the color.
  11. Great looking build and matches your hardtop.
  12. Beautiful looking color and finish. I have had your same experience with the TS paints, they seem to need a clear coat for protection if nothing else. Like the cleanly done body trim.
  13. Beautiful looking paints finish and color. The interior looks great and well color coordinated. Like the way you color detailed the engine parts.
  14. Great looking color and like the engine detailing.
  15. Check a craft store in your area that caters to Jewelry making. They often offer some very small glass "stones" in various colors, one of them being blue.
  16. Another thing to consider with a resin part, you may want to prime it with a good automotive type of sealer/primer before painting. Regular model type paints don't seem to adhere well without a good primer first.
  17. Looks as if the tin worm likes Chargers.
  18. Great looking build. Remember this is a very old tool and there have been changes through the years to the front suspension set up along with other parts. The gray body color was often seen when these cars were new. Like the stance and the rear fender skirts.
  19. Great looking build and the attention to the fine details really make this look good.
  20. Like the finishes and the diorama setup. Enjoy seeing one built the way the manufacturer built it originally.
  21. Great looking paint finish and the colors really stand out. The interior looks well done as is the chassis.
  22. Like the Utes from down under. Have owned a few El Caminos thru the years. Sad, they don't build them here anymore.
  23. Considering what some builders have done just to get this texture on a build, why not give it a flat clear dusting and keep going?
  24. Would that be a 1955 Chevrolet 210 trim level Station Wagon by chance?
