Great job rebuilding this pickup. Enjoyed watching your progress and the colors look good on this. You mention an upcoming '61 rebuild. I'll want to watch that as well. I found an old box of projects from long ago. In there I found an original '61 Ford pickup kit that I tried to chop the top on and then put away.

Beautiful looking color and paint finish. Seeing one built to represent a show room style is not often seen. This represents one of the best-looking Ford products of that time. Very clean looking chrome trim and emblems.

They both look great and the paint on the red sedan is really smooth looking.
-
Great looking squad car. The conversion to a four door looks very convincing.

Beautiful looking finishes wherever you look on this build. I like the way the engine is detailed with the color matched heads and the 90-degree spark plug boots. I've never been able to get that to look right. The color selections all work great together.

Nice cleanly detailed looking build. At first glance the engine almost looks real, especially the carbs, linkage and fuel lines.

That's a cool looking body. Who is the caster?? -
Great looking interior detailing and the color really makes the body color pop.

You piqued my interest, so I went looking at Mecum to see the car you mentioned. The Thursday car #91 is no longer pictured and #91.1 a '02 Chevy S Blazer is in that place. In Mecum speak that usually means a substation vehicle in place of #91. I'm curious now if you were watching on TV or online? I have seen them leave off the selling price on a sold unit before, but never have one just disappear from their site. -
One thing to keep in mind if you're trying to strip paint from a resin anything. Not all resin products are made of the same resin compounds. A few years ago, I managed to turn a resin body into mush after soaking it in the purple pond. Now I have heard of others here that have had zero problems with the purple pond and resin parts. My suggestion would be to try a small expendable part in the cleaning product before committing the body, and this would apply to any cleaning product for that matter. Again, different casters have used different resin compounds that sometimes react differently to different striping products. Proceed with caution.

Another Trans Am Car 68 Pontiac Firebird

Great looking builds of some really nice cars. I thought about getting a '67 Firebird 400 4 speed when they first came out. The insurance for me would have been more per month than the payment based on age and prior driving experiences. -
The color looks great, and I like the cleaner body lines without the spoilers and extra chrome trim. The wheel and tires showing the disc brakes look good as does trhe engine treatment.

I'm impressed by the show car style detailing on the chassis and the color code paint markings. The body paint finish looks great, and the color really fits the subject.

I remember trying to build one of these when they were first released. The body parts didn't go together as well as yours to say the least. Beautiful looking paint and wood trim.
-
Beautiful looking finishes and the body shape looks great, and these kits weren't known for body fidelity. The chrome trim looks really bright, do you recall what you used for the body side trim?

Amazing attention to even the finest little detail. Always learn new tricks watching your builds.

First off, beautiful looking builds and nice fine detailing. Sorry to hear about your problems with the bubble wrap. I have always used at the very least Kleenex or soft paper towels to wrap any model before using any other type of protection or padding for the model itself. The only exception is to use a microfiber towel which is how I transport any model going to a show. The damage to the windshield looks almost like you will have to replace it. Should none of your other efforts work maybe a last-ditch effort would be to dip it in a floor polish product we call Future Floor Polish. I don't know what products you would have access to that would be similar. Even then I would experiment with a drop or two in an area that would not be seen if that doesn't work. Good luck.

I agree with Mopar - D on the color change. i was going to suggest painting it black, but this is more in the color range of the interior.

´68 Buick Riviera Custom - John D'Agostino's Pantheon

Look forward to seeing your build on this. The slightly chopped top maybe the only really big challenge for the body. -
I don't find myself getting all that worked up over the Retro Box Art thing. I sort of like it in many cases and does often influence me purchasing some of the kits if they are showing some new feature or decal sheet. Beyond that it's just marketing on Round 2's part.

Great looking Race Team. Nice paint color and finish on both. A lot of attention to detail and the addition of the pit equipment adds a lot to the look. -
Looks great. I still see this model and some that came afterwards being Rallied on You Tube.

Tuff looking car. The color and black accents work well together.
