  1. Besides the clean looking models this is a great way to spend some quality time with your children. Love seeing grins like this on young faces.
  2. Great looking build. Hertz used a few different color combinations but I still like this one the best. Very nice smooth paint and all the trim looks sharp and cleanly done.
  3. Great looking paint job. So your friend ran the Impala hub caps ? If you have any pictures of your friends car from that time you can work on the suspension to get the stands while the paint sets up.
  4. Hang in there. Remember you can always put some playing card in the spokes. Not trying to be smart, just trying to suggest something to lighten the mood
  5. Those were both great movies. Grand Prix was a very well done story and the photography was outstanding. I think James Garner also did some of his own driving, or at least he was capable of it. La Mans was burdened with a dialog style of that time were everyone just sort of stared at each other and made faces. The back ground story on the making of the movie was very interesting and the in car photography as well as the slow motion crashes are wroth looking at.
  6. Great looking masters. The Impala sedan should selll well with the interest shown in the Round 2 hardtop and all those who were thinking of trying to create a sedan out of it. Not into long beds myself but that trim looks right on.
  7. Remarkable engineering and the attention to the realistic details are outstanding.
  8. Beautifully built. The stripe decals from the kit look just like the original and the Fireball wheels look just like the ones that were on the 1:1 4 x4's Sport Trucks option. The interior and all the little details like your tail lights and mirrors look just like the 1:1.
  9. Very cleanly built Pinto.
  10. Beautiful looking finish and the interior looks well detailed as well.
  11. Perfect stands. I built one of these models in almost the same color body colored wheels and all but as a Gasser and added black and white tuck and roll interior.
  12. No better in the Kansas City Metro either.
  13. Dick Dale and the Deltone's. Thanks for the flash back. Makes me want to blow bubbles and do the Surfers Stomp. What were we thinking ?
  14. I don't recall the names of the web sites but there are some that even have copies of the original sales brochures and the original colors.
  15. I loved this movie, can't remember ever laughing that hard since. Favorite scene is the "Stakeout" when they are spying on her and a much older lady when they're changing clothes.
  16. Looks great, just like the prop they used for the TV series .
  17. Great attention to the suspension details in the bed and the raised bed floor. That seat detail has to be a first.
  18. I agree with everyone else on your color choice. Your changes to the stance also makes it look more like the 1:1. Great save.
  19. Great looking paint finish and I like the different color.
  20. As charlie8575 pointed out the basic stock interiors of the day and Fords as well were pretty uninspiring. The materials were also not known to be long lasting and Sears seat covers were a very big seller. Using a '51 Ford that I owned as an example, the dash and the metal window trim were a medium gray with a hint of Silver. The cloth interiors were a rather itchy Gray cloth with a hint of a striped pattern . The picture you're using as an inspiration is hard to date but I think the shape and color of the California License plates put it prior to 1956 when they went to the general shape we see today and had Black letters and numbers in a Yellow background. Should you want to have a custom interior I would consider something along the lines of your very nice looking '55 Ford. Or something like the picture Misha posted. There were seat covers on the market that resembled that and they were within most peoples budget. Not trying to tell you what to do, just trying to offer some ideas. build it the way you would if it was your 1:1 car.
  21. I like all the extra parts, wagon / skate board / Coke in a wooden case. Last time I saw a 1:1 of these was in the late '60's. The finish on the body looks like a truck that only gets washed when it rains, very well done. The modern wheels look great also.
  22. Very nice curbside build. I like it better without the graphics as well.
  23. Great idea to use the Flat Head engine.
  24. Nice clean looking build.
  25. Great looking build. This is the way Chrysler Corp. delivered the cars to the drag teams of the day.
