  1. You know since you have this faucet out why not just buy a new name brand one that you can get parts for when needed. I would even go so far as inspecting the new faucet prior to purchase to be sure it is a simple washer since this is the most common problem. I bought a plumbers gasket and washer kit at Home Depot years ago with all kinds of these parts in the kit. I have used these to fix our home faucets as needed as well as our rentals over the last twenty years. I'm sure your wife can find a new style faucet she likes better anyway.

    AMT 1966 Impala

Your SS looks great. I have built both the AMT and the Revell kits and they both have pluses and minuses. Yours looks just like what most of the dealers had in stock at the time. Very cleanly finished trim and paint finish.

    SMP 1960 Impala

Great looking redo and the new color looks much better. Nice to see some of these much older kits get a little love.
  4. Beautiful looking paint finish. I like the way you tucked the Turbo in there.

    1967 Chevelle

Great looking Chevelle. I also like the color and the paint has a nice finish. I like the way you detailed the interior and engine. Nice license plate.
  6. Nice exhaust manifolds. The original Revell '69 Nova SS kit offered stock exhaust manifolds as well as headers. The stockers would be a very close match to your stock exhaust.
  7. In addition to sanding the surface it would be a good idea to mask off the trim around the roof area also to prevent any damage.
  8. Beautiful looking convertible. Great paint work and realistic looking interior and trim.
  9. Great looking showroom style. The colors were so popular then and the stock trim is so clean looking.
  10. Beautifully finished. I enjoyed watching your build and finished model looks like something from the Pontiac brochure. All the colors look good together and I like the "over spray" paint treatment on the chassis. With your interior work it's almost a shame this isn't a convertible to better show the interior.
  11. Great looking Olds and it matches the original very well. Cleanly detailed and I like how you used the discolorations on the exhaust pipes and fuel tank, very realistic looking.
  12. I like the nice clean stock theme of your build. I agree with Dan on the wood bed floor as well.
  13. Beautiful looking classic. So much trim and all done so well. Interesting passenger seating set a little behind the driver.
  14. Great job getting the engine in there. Good color combination and the finishes are all nice and smooth.
  15. Great looking little Comet. Perfect color for the time and all the trim looks real cleanly done as well.
  16. Beautiful looking custom with all the styling Q's of the era. The Dodge Lancer hub caps may have been as popular or even more popular that the '56 Olds Fiesta hub caps depending on where you were living at the time. I think AMT put either the Lancer style or even the '59 Pontiac style flipper hub caps as an option in most of their 3 in 1 kits at the time. I like how you added the cover for the back seat. I remember seeing several of those in SoCal on the street in the mid & late '50's.
  17. Great looking interior and I like how clean all the trim items on the body are done. You mentioned gluing lenses in place and what can be done is to use clear paint as a glue. I have even gone over the lens its self with a thin coat of clear as this will make the lens a little shinier and help hold the part in place. Some normal glues will leave any access glue visible when it dries while the paint is just clear.
  18. Some Ford engines used a "spin on " fuel filter much like a mini oil filter. They were mounted to the pump housing and I agree they wouldn't be dangling like this.
  19. I love it. Everything is all twisted up like this little Falcon is about to take flight.
  20. I also had a '74 Chayanne Super step side. Looking at the instruction sheet I can see what you mean about the step on the back side of the fenders and that wouldn't have been there on the 1:1. Perhaps old Billy had some sort of after market rear fenders on his truck. You had mentioned they were a little wider than stock appearing. I guess my remark was based on the thought that you may have removed the OEM steps. I have a couple of these in the stash but never really have gone thru them and seeing the instructions I better understand what you're doing with the fenders now.
  21. The dash board looks great. You mentioned the light colored carpet and it looks correct to me anyway. A thought to give it a little depth if you wanted to make a set of floor mats which would have been common on a car with this light of a color since it would show a lot of foot traffic on the carpet. As for material you could use the thinnest piece of flat plastic or even a rigid piece of paper. Most were made of a rubber material although there were more expensive carpeted mats also. Staying with something that would look like rubber and a slightly darker color than the carpet might give it the most realistic look. You could just cut a couple of pieces of paper and place them on the floor to see if this is something you would even consider. The body color in the picture and the black vinyl roof go well together. This will require a little bit of chrome foil.
  22. Looks great. Nice color and finish. I also like how you did the engine wiring and carb. stacks.
  23. Beautiful looking paint work and finish. I like your build theme . Very under appreciated 1:1 Car at the time also.
  24. Actually the "step" goes between the back of the cab and the front leading edge of the rear fender. The original design was a place to step on to place items in or remove from the bed of the truck. This design also cut down on the road splash from the front tires that would otherwise be sprayed on the front of the rear fenders and the side of the bed. If you don't want to use them because of your build style that's all good also.
  25. The engine looks like it has had many years of service, great looking finish on this.
