  1. I'll bet they were trying to figure out if you were one of theirs at first.
  2. While the Lindberg '61 Impala may be a better choice at this time, when the SMP issue came out it was as up to date as anything on the market at that time.
  3. Beautiful looking paint work and the Red interior just looks right with the Black exterior. Great wheel choice also. The Soap Box car looks neat.
  4. Great looking Supra, I like the seat upholstery.
  5. Great looking paint work and I like the wheels.
  6. Beautiful looking build and I like the color and the paint finish. Looks Showroom fresh.
  7. As impressive as the body work and the interior is, the chassis and engine detailing is the most impressive to me.

    ‘67 GTO

Great looking interior and the paint really looks good, nice and smooth. The track ? may be a little narrow, but that's the kits issue. I would like to see this in the bright sunlight so you can see the metallic in the paint.
  9. Thanks for the info. I really do need to try this.
  10. I think you are correct on the Hugger Orange full size and Corvairs. While seen often on Camaros I don't really remember any Chevelles, but this was still a time when you could special order just about any GM color on any GM car. The HG Chevelles would make since I remember more than one El Camino in that color. I think the color came available after the first of the year for Pontiac Judges. I knew a guy who ordered a '69 Judge and he had to wait till the new year, calendar 1969, before they would release it to build. Something about the Monaco Orange makes me think the color is slightly different shade. You mention the Red color on Chevrolets, in addition to the Garnet Red they did in fact have a bright non metallic Red also.

    '41 Ford Coupe

I agree with all the others on your body work. You were also able to get the nose of the '41 to set right without the upturned look.
  12. How do you accomplish paint effect on the center section and the two triangles on the rear of the roof ? I like it but not sure how it is done.
  13. Which kits are you using for parts ? Are you by chance using the rear axle and suspension from the early AMT '57 Chevrolet ? This is the only kit I know of with a chrome rear end set up. I think any of the Revell '56 or '57 Chevrolet kits would provide a better level of detail.
  14. I remember years ago that someone put forward the idea of doing much the same thing but with the use of one of those orbital head electric tooth brushes. As I recall they suggested using a large hole punch to cutout sanding disks from sand paper that could be used for the sanding.
  15. You mention the color scheme, and I guess for some it may be a little garish but the colors combinations at the time were pretty bold compared to today. The revers of this color setup would be the body painted a bright Hugger Orange (as mine was) and White stripes that could even be optional. That was a very popular color at the time and not just on Camaros. Sounds as if you just want to build a nice looking Camaro Convertible. I would look for a color you like if this is the case and build it the way you would like.
  16. Nice looking color, I have a question about the "Chrome Spiders" for your wheels. I'm thinking they are placed on the wheel at this point to just get an idea how it will look. I like this style and wish they were more available. The original design of these were to cover the lug nuts and the mounting bracket was mounted between the wheel and the actual lug nut. The chrome portion was mount to the bracket by small screws.
  17. Good looking color. What are the two end spoons color ?
  18. I like it. Sort of a touch of rust starting around the outer edges of every body panel.
  19. That's what I thought , and the bumpers also. The old AMT '40 Coupe, '39/'40 Sedan and this Panel are some of my favorites. I like the 1:1's and these kits build out well.
  20. Really like this theme and the model also. Nice looking company colors for the brewery. Did the grill and hood come from the AMT sedan kit ?
  21. Great looking Showroom Stock build. I like the two tune paint work. I'm finishing on of these this week also.
  22. Very nice looking build and I like that color also.
  23. Great looking build. Fun to look at all the little touches that really make it standout. Been a while since I have seen a grill guard like that.
  24. Beautiful looking Hot Rod. I think using the Ford Y Block and back dating the brakes puts in solid in the 60's era. You have the right stance, wheels, color, louvers, got it all.
  25. This looks great I also built this kit just over twenty years ago. At that time it was the most difficult and the most detailed one I had ever built. After looking at yours I'm thinking it might be time to try another. I really like the subject and this form of racing in general. Spend way to much time watching it on YouTube.
