  1. The Righteous Brothers, ya it was that long ago. Next was Willy Nelson and Whaling Jennings and the Security Detail was provided by the Hells Angels. It was kind of a rough crowd. Since then mostly Jazz groups, much mellower and not as likely to get stomped.

That is one of the brightest paint jobs I've seen in a long time. I think it's neat she wanted you to build her a model. Maybe she'll become a modeler herself some day.
  3. Great looking build. The paint looks great and the trim looks very clean also. I like the Poverty Hub Caps.
  4. Glad to see this is back on the work bench.
  5. Nice looking paint work and color.
  6. Pretty nice looking kit. If you wanted a Barn Find this would sure look like it. So what was the colors on the Stingray series Corvette ?
  7. You might look for the newest Mustang kit you can find that has an Automatic Transmission in it. I would think that would give you the transmission you're looking for and you have the rest of the kit for parts.
  8. My suggestion would be to hinge the sides or a portion of the sides from the top or roof. What I have seen at different car shows is that is the way most venders have their trailers set up. With the sides raised this gives them a covered and shaded area to present their wares and canvas rollup sides can keep out the wind and rain. You can even have a small step stool so that someone could step up into the trailer its self to view items. Engine stands can be under the eves of the trailer sides along with tables, display cabinets, and brochure stands.
  9. The trailer was about 10 or 15 feet shorter and had a front set of duels and a tong was used to attach to Tanker Truck pulling it. Other than that the picture on the box is configured in the same manor. You can see what I meant about the refection by looking at the picture also.
  10. Sounds more like a pinched nerve in your back.
  11. Beautiful looking build. I like the short step body style and the paint looks great on this.
  12. This is amazing. I just noticed the shadow effect on the scallops. The scratch building is all so well done.
  13. Beautiful looking build. This was a very popular color on that model at that time. All of the trim looks crisp and clean.

That is amazing, no wonder this won awards. The paint is so bright my eyes are still watering. Love the signage. All of the minute details take time to study.
  15. I really wish I had. I was in my mid twenties and it just didn't seem important at the time and wasn't as common a thing to do as today, now we're texting each other pictures of what they had for lunch. At that time the company was going thru a color change on their rolling stock. The colors when I started were a medium blue that was prone to oxidizing and turning a lighter blue. The new colors that they started repainting the rigs really looked good. The Cabs were painted an Orange to match their trademark Union 76 ball that was part of their advertising. The chassis was a color they called Bayberry and was sort of a beige color with a hint of yellow. The Tanks were untreated Aluminum and the Wheels were polished Aluminum along with the big flat front Bumpers. Now I'm starting to wish I had some pictures, they did look good when clean. I just went back into box I keep all of my old drivers licenses in. I have the Safe Driver Award from Union 76 for 1 year dated 12/31/68 and my International Brotherhood of Teamsters card. So you can see this was some time ago and in fact longer than I thought. Time flies when your having fun.
  16. You have a really nice paint finish on this build. I like the way you have the side panels removed to show the engine but with the upper part of the hood in place it keeps all the factory body lines.
  17. I have never used the Humbrol brand of spray paints so I couldn't give you a true comparison to Tamiya products. I have tried their brush paint for an interior years ago and just wasn't that impressed so I haven't bought any of their products since then. This may be true of others and the reason you haven't received any response.
  18. What she shared with us was that the change in the life span of a refrigerator came about when the Government Energy Standards came about. I don't understand how that would happen, but with your background my be you have some insight as to how that would be possible.
  19. Your dash's are a model unto themselves.
  20. I have seen a couple of nice looking Resin bodies for a '57 Ranchero with the bed already done, just ad parts from the Revell '57 Ford.
  21. I drove a Tanker Truck for Union Oil Company for a while around 1970. The Tanks were Aluminum and unpainted and the rig had Aluminum Wheels. The rear of the trailer tanks had a slight convex curve to it. First I started polishing the Wheels when I had a little down time and I like how that looks anyway. I got in trouble with the Highway Patrol after I started polishing the back side of the Tanks. I wasn't the only one doing this and I had noticed on the road looking at other trucks that it was like driving toward a mirror. Well it was a bright shinny day and I guess the sun reflected off the rear of the tank and the reflection hit the State Trooper in the eyes. He didn't sight me but said I was to let the Aluminum oxidize and return to a dull finish. To this day I still appreciate seeing someone who looks after their rig.
  22. OOOO NOOOO! I love those cars. Just a little FIY. Don't settle for just having the car repaired. There will came a day when you want to sell or trade this and you will legally have to disclose this damage and it will effect it's value at that time. Make her pay for her stupidity and get compensated as you should be for your lose.
  23. I like the Engine idea and how you did the Chassis.
  24. Looks great, sorry to hear about the kits short comings. Very nice paint work, you have the stance, and the 4.3 engine swap would be a perfect way to make it go without the rear wheels on fire all the time.
  25. Great looking truck. Very nice paint and trim work.
