Unless your on your death bed you might not want to go too the doctors office. Sounds like the cure might be worse than the sickness.

What ELSE did you build? Non auto related.

That is one serious looking Bee Hive. You would have been in big trouble if they were still there. -
I still have the original one I built years ago. I used the optional Ansen style wheels on it.

'65 F-100 Tribute to my late Grandpa
espo replied to ranma's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Looks great, like a real work truck. I like the dirty slightly rusty wheels and a big rear bumper. -
As others have mentioned, you got the time period perfectly. I like the clean white color on this. I had a '67 El Camino and a '72 Nova SS that both had the stink bug look. Thanks for the memories.

They look great together. Nice color combination. I'm a big Tri-Five fan and these are great kits. Should you want to build a "55 to go with these Revell has offered a '55 Hardtop that might work unless it has to be a post car.

1930 Ford delivery Rod
espo replied to stitchdup's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
The support rods wouldn't have to be present in as much as this is a model. Bills72sj's suggestion about clearing the engine might be the best idea to follow on this. I have seen 1:1 cars where the builder has had the support rods actually bend around the engine but it just didn't look right. Depending on how high the Radiator Shell is mounted the rods might run under the Fuel Injection Stacks. -
That's what we used to call "smooth as a babies bottom" finish. That card really does show just how nice the finish on this build is.

I look forward to another one of your McNally builds.

Drug home another project

With an Overdrive this should make a great long distance cruiser. This is an unusual transmission for a car built at that time period, the reason being most were going to the 4-speeds that had become very popular then. That year model Mercury could even be ordered with a 4 on the floor. I have owned several earlier model Fords with the Overdrive, and it will work in second gear as well. Mine had a switch under the gas pedal that would disengage the overdrive if you floored it to pass someone. Then let up on the gas and you will hear and often feel the Overdrive reengage. -

Beautiful looking finish and the perfect colors for this. In reality this would be to nice of a truck to use as a truck. -
Great looking rebuild.

I like the showroom style build in this one. The paint finish and color look great.

Beautiful looking build. as always the black paint really stands out. Not being very familiar with this body style, at first glance the front reminded me of an '80's Monte Carlo.
-
Excellent paint and interior. The color combination really show the voluptuous lines of this year model Ford.
-
Beautiful looking finishes through out and I like the showroom style. Can you imagine a time when you could walk into a Dodge dealership and have something like this on the showroom floor. Present day Hell Cats aside.
-
Great looking cruiser. I like the colors and the finish looks great. Nicely detailed engine also.

Your list of modifications and extra parts used really helps understand what all went into this build. This is beautifully done as seen at first glance, but without the information provided it would be hard to fully appreciate what all you have done.

1930 Ford delivery Rod

Very creative and looks to be well thought out. -
The paint is outstanding. You mention the Tamiya spray Smoked color. I did the same treatment on one of the '66 Malibu Wagons I built and it looks perfect. I masked everything but the interior side of the glass. Sprayed a very light coat and allowed to dry. I then dipped it in Future Floor polish and let it dry. It was then ready to go.

I was finally able to get one yesterday at HL. The first store only had an empty space on the shelf where it would have been. The second stop I found either the last or only one they had. The kit it's self looks great and no real problems at all that I can see. Now this is only my personal feeling and I'm sure there are those that would disagree, but I still think the front of the hood wear it drops to the leading edge is to sharp of an edge. Again this is just my opinion. The only mold parting line I can see so far is at the rear edge of the trunk lid and the rear fender caps and not any greater than what you would find on almost any kit. The bodies finish is just as others have described and almost as if they had pre sanded it. In fact on the trunk lid again this time at the point were it starts it's down turn looks as if they had all but removed a parting line there. Anyone with even the most remote interest in the '67 Impala 4 door Hardtop should pick one up.

I was just thinking that looks a lot like your Skyline. Another super smooth looing build, I like this style a lot.
