You should have gotten out of the safety of your car and grabbed him and explained how rude he was being. I'll bet no one waiting in line said a thing let alone a store employee. -
Last time I bought gas that cheap I was thick of hair and thin of waist, unlike now.

I haven't had any Spam for years and it was a big part of my early adulthood. Sort of an economic issue you could say. You will not believe what state consumes the most spam. Aloha.

"EMERGENCY" Squad 10

This sure looks like the truck on the TV screen. A lot of scratch building and I like how you even got the Utility Bed Doors done. -
T/A Pontiac Aztek
espo replied to Mike 1017's topic in 1:1 Reference Photos: Auto Shows, Personal vehicles (Cars and Trucks)
The Aztek was the result of several focus groups that GM had with young buyers who couldn't afford to buy a car anyway. Then they took the most bizarre suggestions from these groups and created the Aztek. I with hold my personal opinion, but who ever let this creation hit the showroom is also partially responsible for the demise of the Pontiac Motor Division and should have to give up their company retirement benefits. Something more on the order of Mike 1017's picture might have sold a few. -
I was just wondering. You made it look factory.

Great looking build. I followed along when you were working on this and know how hard you worked to make it correct. This was an interesting chapter in racing with the Big 3 slipping untold amounts of money out the back door to curtain teams. Great looking paint finish and all of the sponsors decals.

Your build looks nice especially with all of the horror stories I've heard about these kits.

This is a beautiful looking Plymouth. I like the Convertible idea and the 6 Cylinder "Leaning Tower of Power" really catches your eye. The paint is great and the chrome body trim looks perfect. You are correct the Cragars add to the appearance. Hmm, right hand drive. Was that a personal challenge ?

I like the way you built your custom here. You mentioned the rear roll pan, but I think it looks fine. Sanding the large expanse of the body sides must have been fun. The paint finish is also smooth and looks great. As an aside on the engine. Your engine matches the appearance of the one year only 350 cu in 305 hp 2 four barrel engine. In '59 they increased the bore and became the 361 cu in with the same horsepower rating and a single 4 barrel. This engine was also offered in two versions for '60 with the option of duel four barrels and 310 hp. This block also had another bore increase too 383 cu in. The standard 383 with a single 4 barrel was rated at 325 hp with a 2 four barrel option both rated at 330 hp. The top 2x4 option had a torque rating of 469 lbs @2800 rpm and was called the Ram. The normal 2x4 had a torque rating of 425 lbs @ 3600 rpm. With a difference of 44 ft lbs and at a 800 lower rpm you have to wonder what all they did with the Cam and Heads. This information is from one of my old Motor's Auto Repair manuals copyrighted 1962. More information than you might want, but you got the engine correct on this.

In the 1:1 world these always seemed so elegant looking, and with the way you used different colors you did the same with this build. I have know idea what all you had to do on the engine but it looks factory to my eyes. Almost expect to see Clark Gabel or some other movie star leaning on the fender.

Beautiful looking Sedan. Besides the great looking subdued colors the Arden conversion engine just looks like it should.
-
Great looking interior and chassis.
-
Very clean looking build. I like the added details on the engine also.
-
Very impressive looking, we don't see Brass Era models much so this is interesting.
-
Beautiful build, hard to tell from a 1:1 in many ways. The paint finish is amazing and the interior is also. I like the way you do your radiator and grill.
-
The interior wood grain looks great from here.

Very good point. We have several present and past educators in the neighborhood and some of their stories are of unacceptable behavior by students. As you point out the parents don't believe their little precious couldn't be the problem.. Maybe schools might consider issuing Body Cams for Teachers for their own protection and give you something to discuss at Parent - Teachers Meetings.

Kits or resin bodies of Land Yacht cars?
espo replied to Hotrod 97's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Chevrolet Impalas were a popular car for this type of build. The AMT '76 model has been reissued a few times and I would think you could find one of those. -
Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favor of buying Ammo when ever I need it. Dedicated Gun Stores and Sporting Goods stores that sell Guns and Ammo are considered a necessity and must remain open here per the states Governor.

This is like the E-Mail my wife got from her Accountants Assoc. Not sure where they got it, but it's pretty funny.

I like the engine swap and all of the other features you used from the other kits. You can believe someone could do a 1:1 in just the same manor. great looking paint work also.
