  1. I guess I'm not understanding the color for the headlights. I'm seeing the color red in your photos, is it possible to control the color ? I'm thinking white would be best for headlights and maybe even the interior lights. The red nitrous lights make sense.
  2. Wow, so the battery box is in the engine compartment ? Where all are you running the lights too ? Is Red the only color choice ? All very amazing. Living where I do the local Dealerships only send us a flat "key" made out of some unusable metal.
  3. First off I'm admiring you build and all of the details. I often watch some of the Rally Racing on YouTube and the above picture is what is often seen. You mention the color White for the Chassis bits and one thing I have noticed is that most of the cars seem as if the underside is often painted the same color as the top. I wouldn't suggest doing it any different than what you're doing, but I just found that interesting.
  4. You seem to be looking for color ideas so I'll offer mine. I like that you mentioned keeping the color a little more on the subdued side. The #40 Butternut Yellow was a "soft yellow" much like a late '60's Chevrolet color. #75 Dark Gold Met. is like the photo you showed and I like that as it is a rich looking color. #81 Sunset Silver Met., hard to tell from the photo of the color chart as Silvers in general seem to confuse camera lenses and often doesn't show it's true color. The color chart one looks as if it has a hint of the 1965 color Evening Orchid that is either a love or hate it color, I love it. The Firebirds and Camaros, in my mind, always looked cleaner and sleeker without the Vinyl Roofs that were so popular at the time, mostly because dealers ordered their inventory that way for additional profits. The Camaro style Spoiler would look better than what Firebird had at the time, or go with out. What ever you do I'm sure it's going to look great and I'm enjoying watching your build, especially the body work.
  5. Since it was a Prototype maybe it wasn't painted at all. Could be bare steel or some sort of primer. I understand you're wanting to get this correct so I wish well in your investigation of the color.
  6. I guess you never really realize just how big these are until it's passing you on the freeway. I lived for a time in Lompoc Calif. and it's located next to Vandenburg AFB. IN the '60's and '70's they would launch Weather Satellites there often in the evening. Lets just say you would have to wait to finish any conversations you may be having at that time.
  7. I think I remember you posting these pictures before. I may be able to give you a few suggestions on your conversion. The Revell kit as you know is of the limited edition 396 SS model offered by Chevrolet. The primary difference on the trunk trim is unique to that model car. Look very closely at the outer edges of the rear fenders just beyond the tail light lenses on the kits body There is a very faint outline of what would be the normal SS tail moldings. This ends at the point that the OEM molding would have run across the trunk lid. This molding can be created by using some very small half round from Plastruct. The center section between the tail lights can be done by removing the kits chrome part between the tail lights and use a slightly larger half round molding aligned with the top and bottom edge of the tail light. The clear red tail lights have an extremely fine ridge that could be maybe highlighted with a chrome pen to replicate that molding. I have studied just such a conversion in the past, but other projects keep getting in the way. I'd like to see you build a model of your car. I have done this same thing for several cars I have owned through the years and I really enjoyed the memories that come back to me on such a build.
  8. You might look through the Resin/Aftermarket Section on the Forum. There's a list of after market companies web sites. They might not have exactly what you're looking for but you'll be able to see what is out there that you could use. Several of these suppliers specialize in 4 X 4 conversions for existing kits.
  9. Well Steve, What other sorts of kits hold an interest to you ? I have several Revell and AMT kits going back many years. I have a few based on Import vehicles, but for the most part mine are US vehicles. I have a few pickups, Corvettes and a couple of NASCAR. Many are still sealed so there shouldn't be any missing parts. Send me a list of your interests and I'll see if I have it.
  10. She has some very interesting work. Just a heads up for those not on Instagram, you will be able to look for a few minuets and then you're given the option to sign in or join, but no more viewing.

Looks good. I think this is the only one I can remember being done with the correct colors.
  12. I see red and blue lights reflecting on the dash board and I think I even hear the theme from Cops in the background. " What ya goin to do when they hit you with the blue light ??
  13. Based on the information from Stitchdup you might want to consider something in the Desert Storm color palette since it seems to have a military back ground.
  14. That's when you know you just have to much money. I've never had enough money.
  15. When we were at Costco last night they have only one opening to the outside and they have stacked pallets to create a Q for getting into the store area. Not a bad idea. They're also listing the paper products that they don't have in stock, another good idea. Everyone was good about the social distancing thing.
  16. I like what you did with that engine cover beyond the magnets.
  17. This begs the question, Is Round 2 making or paying for Monopoly or Coke product placement in these kits ? I would love to hear his verbal opinion on this.
  18. I like the Hot Rod 6 idea.
  19. No idea what color it is, but I want one. I think it might be a light shade of gray or silver, I don't think it would be white.
  20. It wasn't so long ago that they were condemning the blower dryers in restrooms. The premise was that the blowers blow the contaminants in the air all over your hands after you have washed them.

    Jobs

Made a Costco run last night. There was as many employees as customers and if you did see another shopper everyone was avoiding each other like the plague, pun intended. Amazing assortment of masks including a few that looked like a couple of stage robbers from an old time western movie. Somehow they misplaced a couple of pallets of Scotts TP and everyone was trying to grab one and still be at least 6 ft away from everyone else, hard to do in this case. $1.59 a gallon for regular, about ten cents less than anyone else that I have seen. Got our provisions and scurried home.
  22. Oh man, RIP. Always wrote great lyrics that told a story you could relate to. No grunts or groans just a beautiful voice.
  23. Like so many others this was a very informative build to follow. The exterior finish looks perfect, the stance is just right, and I still wonder why Ford didn't build it this way in the first place. Not seen here but the chassis is just as nice as the body. I also like the way you built the Flathead engine.
  24. Beautiful looking paint finish. Nice to see the blue interior as most are done in black and that was kind of normal at that time. The trim is all very cleanly done as is the decals. Nice back drop for your pictures.
