  1. Those look good enough to make want to go out and find a model worthy of having them.
  2. First off, that is a great looking MB. You make a very good point on the newer kits having mirrors. The Automotive design of today the Mirrors are major part of the overall design of the car. They are made to blend in to the body or A post of the roof for reduced air flow to cut wind drag and also noise. The first mirrors on cars were a very spindly design and didn't do anything for the overall appearance of the car.
  3. Also a 4.3 based engine, but would be great fun for a Hot Rod.
  4. Correct, and the Buick Grand National would , in my mind anyway, be the best starting point. The Turbo Charger may be a plus but it can be easily replaced with a carb. set up if need be. By the way, what are you building ? This may help answering any questions you have.
  5. The first thing I would look at is the Air Cleaner. Even the 1:1s had issues. May have to just shave the bottom of the Air Cleaner and or the Carbs.
  6. I hope you're correct as I would like to build this one again. I'm not a 1/16 builder but I like the "Baby Bird's" and the 1/24 & 1/25's just don't get it for me.
  7. Another thing to consider. This is going to be a trailer and as such with a chassis and suspension under this display case come trailer it will is higher off the ground, and you could still use the interior of the trailer as storage or media display. on the exposed sides.
  8. You are correct about the possible damage. Every ones situation is different. In our case the pump may have been out for a time, I just don't know for how long. We often spend evenings on our back deck and we could here it run from time to time and we would joke that the sound was from "The Belly of the Beast". We have been experiencing a lot of evening rain showers and just haven't enjoyed the deck for a couple of weeks, so I can't say that it was working or not. We are situated near a body of water and the basement level is only a couple of feet above that level and there are springs in the area so our pump get a workout when we get heavy rains. We are lucky since a new Minards opened near use about a month ago and they have an amazing amount of in stock equipment and better pricing that the other two home suppliers I have used for years. The actual installation is very simple, even I can do it.
  9. The TNN Network was one of the founding TV stations for complete coverage of NHRA and many others. Then the sanctioning bodies got well known and could demand a larger payback from the TV stations and they dumped a lot of the Channels that made them a household name including TNN. I like seeing the old interviews with everyone in their Bell Bottom Pants.
  10. I will not touch a Hot Water Heater myself. I think I could do it having watched ours being replaced a few times. With the soldering of pipes and playing with Natural Gas lines not to mention getting the exhaust to the roof and not blow anything up I would rather pay the right person for the job.
  11. The Refrigerator was purchased new from the Furniture Mart on March 18 this year, and started turning my ice cream to soup by April 18. I consider this a rather short life span for any appliance. I want them to replace it with a new Refrigerator because of the defect in the one we purchased.
  12. I built one many years ago and the only thing extra I can remember were a set of mag Wheels and maybe 70 series tires.
  13. Are you mounting this engine in a North/South or an East/west position ? This could make a big difference when you get to the Transmission.
  14. Well the refrigerator saga continues. We got lucky and the repair guy was here Friday at 5 P.M. Seems the Condenser on our 30 day old Reffer is leaking and freezing up, parts on order now. I'm calling the Furniture Mart Monday to give them the opportunity to replace it with a new one before I call Channel 41 News. And just when you think nothing else can go wrong you just have to go to the basement and find out your Sump Pump has died. Fortunately I have a few skills and bought and installed a new one. The water wasn't getting onto the floor yet, but the settling cracks in the floor did show moisture. The new pump ran for a couple of hours steady before it got to the point where it was going off and on pumping the water out from under the foundation. I'm almost afraid to ask what tomorrow will bring.
  15. The Righteous Brothers, ya it was that long ago. Next was Willy Nelson and Whaling Jennings and the Security Detail was provided by the Hells Angels. It was kind of a rough crowd. Since then mostly Jazz groups, much mellower and not as likely to get stomped.

    41 Willys

That is one of the brightest paint jobs I've seen in a long time. I think it's neat she wanted you to build her a model. Maybe she'll become a modeler herself some day.
  17. Great looking build. The paint looks great and the trim looks very clean also. I like the Poverty Hub Caps.
  18. Glad to see this is back on the work bench.
  19. Nice looking paint work and color.
  20. Pretty nice looking kit. If you wanted a Barn Find this would sure look like it. So what was the colors on the Stingray series Corvette ?
  21. You might look for the newest Mustang kit you can find that has an Automatic Transmission in it. I would think that would give you the transmission you're looking for and you have the rest of the kit for parts.
  22. My suggestion would be to hinge the sides or a portion of the sides from the top or roof. What I have seen at different car shows is that is the way most venders have their trailers set up. With the sides raised this gives them a covered and shaded area to present their wares and canvas rollup sides can keep out the wind and rain. You can even have a small step stool so that someone could step up into the trailer its self to view items. Engine stands can be under the eves of the trailer sides along with tables, display cabinets, and brochure stands.
  23. The trailer was about 10 or 15 feet shorter and had a front set of duels and a tong was used to attach to Tanker Truck pulling it. Other than that the picture on the box is configured in the same manor. You can see what I meant about the refection by looking at the picture also.
  24. Sounds more like a pinched nerve in your back.
