I have an AMT # 31736 of an '88 Mustang GT fastback. This and many others were special issues for Wal Mart. They are easily identified by the dark and light Brown checkered box. I don't recall what all the deal was between AMT and Wal Mart but the kits were identical save the box color and Wal Mart was selling them at a better price point. I was trying to buy all of them I could find. The problem was not all of the reissues were available in each location. I never did find the "67 Impala SS, but I have seen them at Swap Meets so I know they were out there. Maybe post your wants in that section of the Forum, someone may be willing to trade you for something you have that they can use.

You may be correct about the scale, but what I found this morning digging thru the stash may muddy the water a little. First the Cougar kit I mentioned was purchased at a swap meet as a partial kit. My memory wants to say it was a Monogram but I can't find the old box at this point. Maybe with a brief description you can figure out what it as. The kit was done in Black plastic and the body didn't have a vinyl roof and just standard alloy wheels and no XR7 markings. I also came across a Revell #7166 T-Bird SC in 1/25th. The box is still sealed, but the info on the side mentions a Super Charged V6 and Aero Wheels & Body parts. The box art shows a built kit that looks to be a later model T-Bird than the one JollySipper posted picture. As for the Monte Carlo SS kit, while it says 1/24th it matches up with all of the 1/25th kits on my display shelf. I bought several of these kits when they came out since we had a new "86 SS in the garage that we ordered new and sold it in 2002. That kit was also done in black plastic and that may be the reason that I associate the Cougar and T-Bird kits with the SS.

Once the internet knows your looking for something all kinds of stuff is going to pop up trying to get you to look at their site. Any time I want to make a large purchase I'll just look at what ever it is I want to get and for the next week all kinds of offers will be popping up on your screen. I have even seen them on this forum when I've been shopping. Since your shopping, when you find a couple of cars you like just keep visiting their sites and pretty soon they'll start offering a rebate of some sort.

Both of these kits are very well done. They also had a Mercury Cougar issued at about that same time frame. That one had a V6 engine and I used the independent suspension on another build.

Beautiful looking paint work and I like the body modifications also. This could be a 1939 Corvette Prototype.

Those look very interesting. I know where to look of I'm building an actual commercial type rig.

That should look good. There are several kits out there that have some Shelby engine bits if that's a consideration. I look forward to watching your build on this one.

Oh, for some reason I thought this was going to be a Food Truck of some sort. I remember a House Painter years ago who had the best looking '59 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery. He retired in '83 and a friend of mines son bought it as his first car. The outside looked perfect and when you lifted the rear door it looked like they had had a Paint Gun fight in there.

Great looking paint and trim. The Flat Bed is really a standout here. This looks way to nice to put to work. There're several newer trucks like this around here but they're all "Burning Coal" with a 2 foot diameter stack coming up behind the cab. I like yours much better.

Very realistic looking build. I like the chassis details and the roll cage looks like it would pass tech inspection.

The Chrome trim makes the Blue color look even better. I've had a few sheets of foil that had poor adhesion on the outer edges of the sheet.

That soft Yellow color really looks good on this. I had a coworker back in the day who bought a White one with Red Interior and the 289 and 4-speed. You're right that little V8 looks huge in the engine compartment, but it fits and they were a really nice package to drive. The Thunderbolt style Hood just looks right on any Ford. So what do you have going on with the engine and the interior ?

The paint work looks fantastic but I don't think I'd want to buy a bunch of Bananas of this food truck.

I don't know when the last time you had a real stem to stern physical by a General Practitioner but this might give you a better idea of what may be going on. The specialists that I have visited thru the years while very good at their area that seems their focus and don't look very far beyond for any other health issues. I'm fortunate in that I don't have MS and really don't understand all that is involved there. In my case my GP was doing a Physical because of my fatigue problems and detected an irregular Heart beat. That was in 2002 and he sent me to the Cardiologist who did a Heart Catheter and found the blockage. I was just about your age at the time. We're all different in many ways but I do think we need to listen to our bodies and what they may be trying to tell us. Our bodies are an amazing organism and we just keep finding new ways to damage it. Good luck on your health and for your own piece of mind think about a good Physical from a good GP.

They may need the roof rack in the case of someone having luggage. The Trunk Floor is most likely gone if the Floor is. Any time you're by a large body of salt water your car is goin to suffer even if it's in a garage.

I wonder if that's the old "Freight Train" Dragster ? That kit had two small block Chevys in a row.

I've been thinking that I would have to Pancake cut the hood to get it down. I built a '48 Coupe a couple of years ago and wanted to lower the front end. I scratch built a dropped front axel and sunk the center spring mount in the frame. I should have split the wishbones since the front part of the frame is sitting on the wishbones. It's just plastic and it looks cool.

Very nice, I thought it was a Broncho at first. Great looking off road equipment and the paint is to nice to go to far into the woods.

I have to agree with you on the '48 Woody. All of the '48s are great kits. The '41 Fords both 1:1 and the kits seem to have the nose going up hill toward the front. Thanks for the info, it doen't sound like anything that would keep me from building it.

Great looking Mustang. I can't tell you how many times I've watched that movie, but when Bullitt pulls away from the car wash I still get a bit of an adrenaline rush.

Great looking ride. Many years ago I lived in the Pismo Beach & Grover City area. There were many cars that had been placed on a 1/2 ton or Jeep chassis and they always looked like a fun 1:1 project.

I look forward to seeing how this turns out. I did a '60 Falcon Ranchero in Tamiya TS060 Pearl Green body and Testors #1845 Mystic Green roof and dash. The body turned out with a soft shine to it even with a clear coat.

Never thought about that. Maybe this will give the insurance companies a way not to pay.
