Great looking paint and trim. Very good decal work and there're a lot of decals. I didn't really notice the rear wheel opening and decals until you mentioned it. About the only thing you could do is "square" the wheel opening to match. Great looking engine details also.
  2. I really like the color and the paint finish. I'm going to try what you did with the interior on an upcoming build. Very impressive looking engine, nice clean chrome trim.
  3. I like the fadeaway body addition on the green car. I don't recall ever seeing anyone else use those styling parts on a build. They both look great and it's amazing the overall difference in appearance between you two builds coming out of the same kit.
  4. For what it's worth I'd go with the black trim as I agree Bill Geary , it just look right for all the reasons he mentioned. As for the hub caps, a lot of the '67 style hub caps were replaced as everyone at the time wanted the taller "Hats" to make their cars look newer. Like you I think the smaller caps are better looking. In '68 I ordered a new Bel Air two door with Disc Brakes and Rally wheels. I worked with a guy that had a '67 Camaro and jumped at the chance to trade hub caps. While this wasn't all that common it did happen. Have you check tire clearance with the L60 x 15 tires ? These tires were larger in diameter and width than the F60 x 15 tire both in scale and the real world. I think the biggest problem you may have will be the fronts. Remember these cars had 14 inch diameter and 6 1/2 inch wide wheels from the factory. If need be you could always put the F60 x 15's on the front. Even this would be larger than OEM. At the time it was common practice to put larger tires on the rear anyway since everyone knows a car goes faster down hill. We never toke into account how it also in effect changed the axel ratio, but you may already have 4:11 in back anyway. I'm not trying to be smart, I'm just telling you some of the thinking of the time.
  5. That sure is a bright Green. The finish looks very smooth with good coverage. Like you I'm a big Tamiya paint user. I have also used the Model Masters OEM colors that are Lacquer paint and have always had good luck with those. Just a consideration for any other future projects.
  6. Beautiful looking Charger. I like how you detailed the engine.
  7. Very nice with an understated body color. These cars were decades ahead of their time.
  8. Great loking paint and color. What I especially like is the interior and how you reproduced the pattern in the interior inserts.
  9. Espo was my nick name in school, and it just so happened my father had the same nick name also.
  10. Nice clean looking kustom. Where did you get the blue dots ?
  11. The "short caps" were a '67 only design, so this gives you an idea as to where to start looking for those. There are many '67 Corvette kits that many builders might have used a different wheel on so you might put up what you need on that section of the forum, I'm sure someone will trade for what your needing.
  12. With that I would disconnect the rear window wiper. The guy is quite an artist.
  13. Today we are supposed to see 60 degrees but not to worry we have also been assured that we'll be below freezing tomorrow and have more of the white stuff by the end of the week, Oh joy.
  14. This color is perfect for this body style. The interior is very realistic looking. Great use of colors under the hood.
  15. The Rally Green color looks great.
  16. See Round 2's after market tires for Red Lines of Good Year Polyglass tires. They offer both F & L 60 tire sizes. The simulated Mag Wheel Hub Caps can be found in the Lindberg '66 Chevelle kit as well as some red lines. In that era if you ordered Disc Brakes then either the Rally or Magnum 500 wheels were required. I don't recall ever seeing a Chevelle SS 396 with out Disc Brakes so they might have been standard. I do know that models other than the SS could be ordered either with or without Disc Brakes. Color will have to be your call. I would study the color chart for the Chevelle and see what they offered, and remember this was a time for an extra $100 or so you could even get them to paint it something from the Cadillac color wheel.
  17. I like how the engine looks natural and slightly used.
  18. I also like the colors on the body and interior. The stance looks like it could be a little lower ?
  19. I used to enjoy see these and other sketches from time to time. More than a few builders here used them for inspiration to build some of them.
  20. While visiting may favorite hobby shop a couple of weeks ago I was talking to one of their long time employees. We talked about models cars since that's my interest, but he told me their big sellers now are the Sci-Fi caricatures. If this is the direction of the market it doesn't bod well for model cars and trucks.
  21. It would seem we share a pretty common view on what would make some interesting future models. I would also add the Alfa Romero's that have just come out. I know you have a very nice Challenger and I had an opportunity to get in one of the new Hell Cats on the dealers showroom floor. I just couldn't convince my wife that this is what we really needed, and we couldn't afford it anyway. But the point is I would love to build a model of it and I think it would sell well enough that Revell could show a profit by offering it. I agree with you on the Full Detailed offerings. This would be a must on any kit they offer.
  22. The picture of the trailer on the top of the instruction sheet is the same view that Revell had on the front of their box. I had one for years and sold it since I just thought I'm never going to build it. The Revell kit had two Camaro Z-28's in addition to the trailer and they included some small chains used to secure the cars to the trailer.
  23. I followed your build and all the extra details you put into this one really show. Very sharp and clean looking. Your brother is going to love this.
  24. Great looking color combination. Nice to see a showroom type build and the ride height is perfect.
