  1. At this point in a BJ auction is where everyone is trying to show off how much bigger their wallet is than the next guy in the room. To quote the comedian Richard Prior, his statement had to do with the use of a controlled substance, " This is the Lords way of telling you have to much money".
  2. I can't stop laughing at your description of symptoms of the flu. I shall use them in the future when ever possible.
  3. As a former '72 Monte Carlo owner I think you got this done right. I like the color combination, not seen often enough on the 1:1. A thought on your hose mounting issue. I'm working on a modified Corvair and ran into the same issue and using the same hoses as you did. I used some very thin aluminum tubing that the braded hose would just fit into. You could drill out the radiator enough to accept the tubing and then paint as you wish. The braded hose would then fit inside the tubing giving you a solid mounting for the hose.
  4. Now I better understand what you were trying to do with the body. Great work on recreating the "wood" trim and the Chevrolet truck front end and fenders are going to make this really look great.
  5. Thank you for what I think we all hope will be good news for Gregg. I wish him a swift recovery and hope he will be able to put his back issues behind him going forward.
  6. Looks like a showroom 1:1. Perfect color combination with the body and interior.
  7. The added chrome side moldings and the two tone paint look great. I picked up one of these last week and I'm still going over ideas in my head. Did you stay with the 6 cylinder ?
  8. I like the conversion work on the body. The interior and paint look great.
  9. Great looking '50's roadster.
  10. I like your build style on this one. It looks like a daily driver, muted dark body color and the red wheels and interior work well.

    1939 Chevy

I enjoyed following your build and it turned out great. I like how you detailed the chassis and exhaust.
  12. You really captured the look of the 1:1 here. Beautiful paint and interior as well.
  13. I like the two door look much better. At this point the door almost looks to long but with everything else you're doing I'm sure it will look good when your done.
  14. I have always found the Michelin Man to be a strange figure to be used in advertising. Thank you for the back ground information on how that all got started. The earlier drawings of the Michelin Man are even weirder than the current figure being used. On the other hand all but one of our vehicles have Michelin tires and I have been pleased with their service on other cars for many years.
  15. Thank you for the information. I think I'll look into the Ultrasonic devices fist since they rain and snow would wash away any of the other products. I really don't want to shot the little critter even though I'm a pretty good shot it would be very easy to be off just enough to really hurt them and I just don't want to do that. The ultrasound type sounds the best since it would be activated by their activity and this would maybe seem like a natural thing to the cat and they would associate the area with an unpleasant sound.
  16. I have attended the Mecum Auctions here in Kansas City several times and even sold my '95 Chevy pickup their in 2010. If nothing else it's an inexpensive car show as you can roam the display area and inspect the cars and trucks even if you're not a buyer. It is a fast paced auction and you'll see people paying stupid money for some cars and stealing others.
  17. Please share any pictures you may have for those of us that can't attend.
  18. Great looking paint work. Very clean trim.
  19. This is their "House Cat" that they claim never is let out of the house. I can see it sitting inside one of their bedroom windows from our kitchen sink. As I sit at my computer/work bench I can see it walk by just below my window. I have tried all of the old wife's remedies including a Veterinarian recommended used coffee grounds and non of it has worked. The Deer and Rabbit repellants don't seem to work either. I don't want to harm the cat, but maybe a well directed BB shot to the back side might make his visits uncomfortable enough that he'll stop coming around. Now I'm going to start getting the hate mail, but if you ever are trying to do anything in your flower beds and all you are doing is digging in Cat BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH you might take a different view.
  20. The paint finish is outstanding, we all know how a good Black paint job can be. The attention to detail in the interior is great, and you even matched the shade of gold for the wheels and that isn't easy. As a child we had a neighbor who had one of these and when ever they went for a ride everyone looked at that car.
  21. Beautiful looking build. If you took some pictures in an outdoor setting it could easily pass for a 1:1.
  22. The only challenge would be the Hub Cap as just about any "steel wheel" would work. I'd start with either the wheels from the '57 Ford kits or the '49 Ford.
  23. This is when you get your local Representative and the Insurance Commissioner involved. As for the Michigan residence in the Military, most of them are not operating their vehicles in Michigan depending on their duty station.
  24. Looks interesting. I wonder if it would work with a neighbors cat that thinks our flower beds are it's personal toilet ?
  25. There are several reasons, some having to do with safety, engine noise picked up by the Mic. and if you ever attend one of these auctions you would not believe the Carbon Monoxide levels. Your headache is worse than any hangover ever and your eyes are watering. A tip that seems to work for me is to stay on the ground floor as all the gasses seem to raise to the roof.
