All three of them look great. I'm including your 1:1 Trans Am.

I primarily use Tamiya paints. For the most part I use their spray cans. I have thinned their bottle paints to use with my air brush. Also Model Master spray paints because of the color range offered. I will use Dupli-color primers when working with Resin bodies. Many builders here get much more involved with various brands and types of paints, but I think it's just what ever works best for you and gives you the finish you're looking for.

Think about it. You have a large caliber gun that will have a recoil. Your Armor is minimal at best. I think any Marksman First Class could hit this guy below the Armor and that wouldn't end well.

In the era when this car first came to market it was a common thing for owners to add Hood Pins. This was not just for appearance, it was often combined with a lock of some sort. This was to keep people with sticky fingers from liberating anything they could find under the hood. Also made everyone think you were a racer.

Amazing what you can do with a little clean up and some detailing.

Great looking builds and I like your build style. I'm a former '69 Camaro owner so your build is the most interesting to me. You mentioned the long build time and I was wondering if that was by choice or was the kit a problem ?

I think the untimely demise of Pontiac came about sometime before the bailout and was a business decision made by GM having more to do with their business in China than anything to do with the bailout. I know this may sound confusing and my thought comes from conversations with our GM Rep. and what I was reading in the trade magazines and papers at the time. I was working for a Buick-Pontiac-GMC Truck franchise at the time. What we were told by some GM people who were not supposed to tell us anything, but did share this little bit off the record, or maybe they just made it up I don't know. Buick was considered a very upscale car in China and people with the where with all were even using them with a hired drivers in China. The problem was that they were selling more Buicks in China than the U.S. and in U.S. buyers were ageing out very fast and either they drop Buick here and that would make the China sales questionable is what they were saying. In this country Pontiac out sold Buick by a substantial number and profit. G.M. in their infinite wisdom killed Pontiac in this country to keep Buick sales in China since what they were saying was that they made more from Buick sales in China than Buick and Pontiac combined here. I find this all hard to believe myself because we had no problem selling Bonneville's / Grand Prix / Grand Am and even the mini van. Buicks were only a very small fraction of our business. So way would G.M. shot themselves in the foot ? I know they have made many other expensive business decisions in the past but this made no other sense then what we were being told "under the table" as the saying goes.

These are all neat in their own way. The Yellow bug has the same Baja kit I had on my '67 many moons ago, except for the rear wing. The original kit had a fiber glass scoop to catch the air below the rear window and direct it to the original air intake to cool the engine. The "cab over" designed Bug looks like it could be a fun hauler. Now these little "road racers" really look interesting.

Ya I think you would have to be very carful of the venue when you start the "light show" You might panic the crowd you know.

I would seem, based on what Tim Boyd mentioned, that no one is playing by the "rules". Will be interesting how this plays out.

While there is a marked difference in the roof line, The earlier Pro Modeler with the incorrect roof offers some interesting possibilities depending on the design of your build. If you're wanting to build something other than a stock body the "wrong roof" issue might be the way to go.

My frinds was Red with Black interior. We lived in the mountains in southern California and we would race around the mountain at night, there wasn't much else to do.

I would check around with the DMV to see what you can and can not do with the PD equipment. I think if you never turned it on while driving it wouldn't be a problem but you never know who's going to get their shorts in a bunch so I would verify first. Have you thought of putting an "Out of Service" sign on the rear side windows, you know for shows and such ?
