  1. All of the extra effort on detailing the mechanics of the model really paid off. I think that after you use the pen on your chrome you'll start using it on everything. I'm going back and redoing all the models where the chrome comes off every time you touch the bumpers.
  2. Great paint and well detailed engine and interior.
  3. Beautiful build. The extras that you added like the roof rack an interior really are great. I like all the red suspension bits, some wild angles on the universal joints. To bad the engine is covered I'm sure it's just as nice.
  4. Very clean looking build and the dash is perfect.
  5. Great cruiser, smooth paint and perfect stance. Then you lift the hood and you see why Fords were First on Race Day instead of Found On the Road Deserted. Perfect induction system.
  6. I also like the Sleeper concept. This is much better than stripes scoops and words allover the body the body of an otherwise standard car. Great body work altering the wheel base and width of the body.

  8. You lucky dog you. I personally like the post two doors to most hardtops, and a '50's thru '60's Olds, Pontiac, or even a Buick just look great to me. While the paint job seems to be a big stumbling block for you at least it looks to be in decent shape for now. Depending on what you plan to do and how much you can afford at this time at least it looks very presentable going in. This will give you time to address the engine issues and what ever else you may find. I think the open grill looks good, and what a set of Olds Fiesta hub caps would do great.
  9. I agree with CabDriver, post as you go. Sometimes you will make discoveries that you can share that will help others, and when problems arise you can ask for and receive suggestions. This resin body has always been interesting to me but I just have to many others right now to add this one, so I look forward to what you do with it.
  10. All of the custom features of the day. I always liked the cover over the back seat and folded top. This also made it less drafty if you didn't have extra passengers. I remember guys doing this on hardtops also covering the back seat and sometimes a pattern in the meddle. Your wheel and tire combo is very much keeping with the '60's.
  11. The engine sets down in there perfectly, or did you do a lot of surgery? The hood looks like it would almost clear the top of the intake manifold. The wheels look good if not a little oversized for the body, could be hard to turn. Very smooth body work and paint.
  12. I like your wide body AWD Rabbit idea. The Scirocco is very interesting, can't remember one of these being done in the recent past.
  13. I like your roof idea and plan to watch what all you do with this build. While minor at this point I hope to see you do something with the shape of the windshield opening on the transplanted roof. I'm thinking of the windshield mounting on the sides and top, they seem very heavy looking.

  15. The Ramcharger is a good pick for a tow vehicle. I have not built this kit but it looks interesting. The Airstream is what I'm really interested in, is it a kit ? or a die cast ??

  19. Great looking work horse. This is a good way to remember your father when ever you look at this model.
  20. I like the instruments in the dash, and the shift knob.

  22. I'm not sure what you're looking for when you say "two-door imitation hardtop". Ford offered what they called a Club Sedan model in the Fairlane and Fairlane 500 series. This was a pillared two door with very thin pillars with chrome moldings around the window just as pictured. Not sure why they did this since they cost very close to a true hardtop. The car in the picture is a Fairlane 500 model. The Fairlane had different side moldings that started under the rear side glass and came forward toward the door handle. Just before reaching the door opening the molding abruptly turns down and toward the rear of the body and then turns again to run straight back just above the rear wheel opening and ending level with the top edge of the rear bumper. Both of the Fairlane body styles shared the 118 in. wheel base and the Custom and Custom 300 had the 116 in. wheel base. I don't know if this helps with what you are looking for or just confuses.
