Looks great. I don't recall ever seeing this kit before. Very clean build.

    DTM Firebird

Very impressive body work. I like the wheel flares and the splitter, the paint is really smoooooth. The hood scoop seems a little large until you see the injection system on the engine. Chassis detailing looks good also.
  3. The interior looks great. The finish on the seats might be a little to shinny for leather or vinyl, maybe just a light dusting of semi-gloss ?? Very impressive wiring for the firewall. I like the decal on the oil filter also. For the foam on the Air Filter, there are many sources of material you could use. If you receive anything at home or work that has those very thin foam wrappings is one that comes to mind. Overall it looks like you have it coming together just fine. Look forward to seeing how the rest of this build comes together.
  4. Maybe a nice letter to your Congressman explaining the problem with a time line and how long it took for the agency to react would help. Your Congressman probably isn't doing anything anyway and would welcome the opportunity to do something constructive to help one of their constituents back home.
  5. Very well detailed. Are the paint blotches on the body sides part of the decals or hand done ?
  6. Very nice. I agree with you on the custom grill. The small block looks like it really belongs there. I think the convertible top might fit a little better with some adjustments where it meets in the rear. Color really stands out.
  7. I hope someone will have pictures to share from the show. Many of use don't get to attend but enjoy seeing what other builders are doing.
  8. Some times it will take more than one application if the wash you're using is very thin. I have also used a flat edged tooth pick or even a pencil eraser to remove any unwanted paint on the grill.
  9. O Yah, That's the way I'd do it. I really like that style.
  10. Very interesting presentation, I don't think I have ever seen a build like this. Great idea.
  11. Very nice looking. The colors set off the body lines well. This was from an era that GM couldn't seem to get enough chrome on their vehicles. I don't think that tail gate ever fit anyway so don't worry about it.
  12. I like the color, but I also question the fit on the roof. Those wheels and brakes give it a very aggressive look.
  13. Another great build. I like how you photograph your builds, it really adds to the realism. I think Ford called their beds Style Sides and most others such as GM called them Step Sides. The Red interior would not have been uncommon with the colors used.
  14. Your black and white photos almost look like a picture of a used work truck in the '50's. I like the light weathering you did. Some say "less is more" and I tend to agree. I can feel my sweaty back sticking to the vinyl seat now.
  15. Chassis looks great. Are those the kit's wheels a nd tires ?? This is not a subject I would normally build but these are starting to look better all the time so who knows.

  17. Turned out great and the Bike and Tule storage unit look perfect. Almost a shame to sell it.
  18. Beautiful build. I'm an Orange paint fan but your Coral finish looks good. I like the exhaust tips, should make a nice Snap Crackle Pop when you back off the throttle. Did you take liberties with the tail lights or is that the way they are kitted ??
  19. Turned out great. I enjoyed following your rebuild on this.
  20. One of my all time favorite kits, especially the way you described building it. I wonder how many Mason Jars could fit in the back of that ??
  21. I like your idea for your build. I'm really impressed with what I have seen of the interior decals. This will be my next build, this kit has so many possibilities.
  22. Nice build, I like the windshield wipers. They look better than what you usually see in a kit.
  23. Your job on the plates make it that much cooler.
  24. Great looking build and the paint is outstanding.
  25. I have seen people pay more than $9.99 at shows for the remains of a kit such as this. If you need the parts for a project and the price seems right to you than go for it. The parts are worhth what someone is willing to pay for them.
