  1. I'll look forward to a repost after you have updated this model. I have done a couple from the past also and I agree with what we know now it just improves them so much.
  2. That turned to really nice. Forgot just how much chrome those old Galaxy's had on them.
  3. That really does look like the very first Funny Cars. How many more of these do you have? I'm enjoying looking at them all.
  4. Great looking build. That's from the time when we had to paint the chrome trim. I like the color contrast between the interior and the body.
  5. Very creative, very nice finish. Years ago I lived near Pismo Beach in California. There were several 1:1 cars in the dunes built just like this.
  6. I'm guessing that you might of switched photos of two builds. This '53 Ford is an outstanding build. The paint is super smooth and all the trim looks just right. I'm going to go looking for your Hudson, I'm sure it will be a sight to behold.
  7. The exhaust resonators as well as duel exhaust was an extra cost option in 1966. The only standard duel exhaust was on the 427 cu.in. engine. That said most dealers ordered the duels and the resonatore since most prople wound want them and it added extra profit to the car at sale time. You are most likely correct that the prototype had a replacement exhaust system. I know I know, just another rivet counter thing.
  8. Still looks great even after all this time. Hard to say if you just leave it as is or blow it apart and foil and black wash some additional details or what. They are only original once.

    70 mustang

Very nice build. Are those the kit's wheels or something you added ? They ad a great deal to the overall look of your build.
  10. Very nice build. You did get that front end looking perfect. I haven't built this model but the others I have seen here this seems to be the biggest problem with the body on this.
  11. Very nice clean detailed build. I like the service vehicle type build.
  12. I looks like you got the continental kit dialed in. If you haven't already tought of it, when you get to the interior you will want to create the area where the top bows fold into when the top is down. Not hard since they were not much wider than the rear seat arm rests. I just extended the arm rest shape up to the level of the sill with styrene, and with the top down and a cover from the '65 GTO kit reshaped it look correct.
  13. Just an idea on the roof. During the last century when but a wee lad my parents used to send me away to summer camp to I wasn't under foot during the summer. The camp had a rather nice '48 Plymouth Woody that was for the camps use and field trips and such. While still nice it would sit in a not quite weather tight garage in northern Wisconsin for 8 to 9 months out of the year. This caused excessive deterioration of the driver's side rear corner of the wood body. The material covering the roof on that corner had split and allowed water and ice to sit their for months and over time the vinyl like cover allowed the stuffing that was between the cover and the wood headliner to start popping out. As I remember it looked like the cotton batting that was used in the seats of cars from that era. Just a thought that may or may not work into what your trying for on your build.
  14. Maybe a late model Corvette ?
  15. I built the Revell Charger Police Car Edition a few years ago. It was all I could find at the time. The engine is actually the 5.7 Hemi, but with the engine cover it's hard to tell. I think the 6.1 in fact doesn't use an engine cover and the top of the induction system and the ignition are exposed. Most of these systems are in this kit in a basic form but with a little detailing you could make a very convincing 6.1 liter.
  16. Great looking build. The color comes out looking almost like a Black Mt. in the pictures.
  17. Great job. I like that you didn't over do it, just a nice well used car. Red headlights ? I like the open side exhaust.
  18. Very clean and accurate build. You even managed to get the Air Conditioning Compressor hooked up, and that isn't easy.
  19. I never cared for the 1:1 when they came out, but with what you did here it looks great.
  20. I have to agree with the cleaner look. Sometimes designers used to just put to much glitter on an otherwise good design.
  21. I like the paint job. How far are you going with the weathering?
  22. This and the other build both follow the prototype. Most people built these with what they had in addition to their own ability. This looks like a fun build, got me to thinking this might be the next build fad.
  23. Excellent color choice. Ford and most other manufactures for that matter used just about every color in the rainbow in the mid '50's.
  24. You're off to a great start. There is something very rewarding to building a model of your personal ride, especially if it's your first car. You also can go out in the driveway to verify any detail you need to. Your trucks body looks like it's in pretty good shape for a truck in your part of the Rust Belt.
  25. Don't know why I missed these at the first of the month. Many different and great build and paint techniques.
