Those are beautiful, looks like you could get in and drive away. Outstanding fit and finish on both Ponchos.

Great looking engine. I like the "OK-5" on the front of the cylinder head. Don't recall seeing that detail before, really adds to the engines appearance.
-
Great looking color, very smooth finish. This is a very nice accurate kit ( I once owned a '72 Monte Carlo 1:1) .

I'm 72 and have been building off and on since 1954. I like building models of cars I have owned, wish I could of afforded once upon a time and those that remind me of when I was thick of hair and thin of waist unlike now.

Ours was the cities fault. We have what they call Grinder Pumps to handle the sewer flow. This is maintained by the city, and the grinder and pump failed. There is an alarm that is suppose to sound but that was not wired properly. When the city took over our sewer system so that we could be annexed they put language in that the city could not be held responsible for damage caused by their neglects.

1990 F250 Supercab 4x4 LWB
espo replied to Mblur05's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Great looking build. It is always rewarding to build a model of a vehicle that had a special meaning in your life. I hope you can look at this truck for years to come and have those memories of your father. -
Engines are looking perfect. I feel your pain on the backup. Had this happen a few years ago and they had to remove sheet rock and base board moldings. The entire basement had to have new carpet thru out. Home owners insurance paid for it as the city would not take responsibility. Hope you have a better outcome.

Krylon Stainless Steel Paint ?
espo replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Some brush paint alternatives, I have used Tamiya XF-56 Metallic Grey and XF-16 Flat Aluminum. Model Master has a color called Steel that is flat and turns out somewhere between Aluminum and the darker Tamiya grey. I have used Tamiya AS-12 Bare Metal Silver that looks much like a powder coated header. -
Before getting a spray booth I used to use a cardboard box as a spray booth. This wouldn't help with the temp so much but would keep the over spray contained on and around the model. I agree that if you keep it above sixty degrees you should be alright. Unless you're single or want to become single you should keep spray painting in the garage or some other structure away from the main living quarters.

Enjoying following your build. A question on your rear tires, do remember where they came from?

On the belt cover, this would probably an after market add on. This was common on a modified VW. OEM's didn't have a cover. With the Turbo setup you might not even notice that the cover is gone, or even if it would be needed. I see what you mean about the wheel color. The one picture you can just see that it is green and not black. The body modifications are very well done and give a very balanced look to the body.

Revell 1966-1977 Bronco
espo replied to Gregg's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Looks like another great kit. Revell has done an outstanding job on the detail on this. Would not normally think of building a Bronco but this is just to nice not to play with. -
Like the Turbo setup. Engine color is unique and very eye catching.

"KILLR-B" says it all. Really like this style of build.

Great detail, and like the way the undercarriage was painted. Has a very nice "low key" look. They vinyl roof looks very realistic.
-
Looks interesting. Those front tires really look large. Like the grill, is there a water cooled engine in the future ?

WoooooHoooo! How About a '66 SUBURBAN !?!?!!!
espo replied to Danno's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I think the possibilities for this kit would be endless no matter what build style you like. Look forward to building a couple as soon as they are out. -
Yah, the Revenuers would never suspect that car was haul'n shine.

I have only had to get a replacement parts from Revell one time so it's hard to say what is normal. I used their on line request and provided the codes from the kit box and the part number, explained the problem on the provided comment box. Within 72 hours I had an E-mail conformation and the new body arrived within a week. So for my personal experience this one time I was very happy with their response. One thing I either read here or else where was that these parts are removed from old stock in the where house that was set aside a long ago. In my mind that would require a great deal of time in some cases looking thru cannibalized kits looking for parts. So depending on the replacement parts requests the turnaround time would be different at different times.

looking for a generator...
espo replied to oldr-n-drt's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
If you don't have a Generator in your parts stash you could use some 4.5 to 4.8 mm tubing from Plastruct and just cut to length. -
Well built. Like the newer Ford power.

You are right about this color. It has enough flake in it to look like a "Bass Boat". I have used it several times and really like it. If you are still looking for an Orange color for you're other project and want something just a little less "in you face" you might look at Tamiya TS-92 Mt. Orange. Just a little more subdued but just as eye catching.

Glad to see that you're back on this build. The interior looks outstanding.

Great looking build. Just the right amount of added detail.
